Sorry for hiding at home this weekend. I've just been in a horrid meeting room all week stuck with two sick people and I need some time to recover.

Hi guys :)

Just posting before the weekend officially starts. It has occured to me that some fulltimers can't tell the difference between a Thursday & Saturday. I've come to really cherish my weekends, utilising Friday nights for crazy stuff, Saturdays for catching up and family Sundays. The latter will probably be dedicated to study. Hopefully.

Anyway. Guess what? I had some ramen today. First bowl in a long time. Actually to think of it, it wasn't even mine ;D

After a kpmg/Moore stephens/ey/ubs dinner tonight, L, M and I were eager to try out a place that exists just above EQ. I recall taking a business card from the place, but it got destroyed after the bar tender's awesome show. A mix of spirits in a shot glass was set on fire, before being dropped into a tumbler of guiness. Holy crap. Sounds simple enough right? The guy who served us drinks put two pairs of wooden chopsticks on top of the tumbler like a bridge, and put the shot glass in top. He topped it off with some sake. Then, with a really long knife tilted at an angle he poured more sake into the shot glass using the knife as a ramp and set it alight.

so damn awesome.

So when everything was on fire, the guy 'hi-yah'ed the chopsticks so the flaming glass fell into the bigger cup and M drank it up.

What the heck, alcohol can be so damn fun. Should have filmed it. The 'hiyah' moment was quite awesome.

Back tracking a bit, had lunch with W, S and J at a $10 Korean buffet place on Pitt. Ehh soso. There are so many Korean buffet places in the cbd

dinner was spent at iima which is essentially the non bar section of mr b's on the corner of Pitt & goulburn st. It's a jap/ Thai restaurant, props to lancy for finding that out. I never knew, despite the fact people from work are there quite often cos it's just across the road.

This week has been satisfying. Actually more than just satisfying. I got a chance to learn a new skill- mahjong ( turns out I'm not half as bad as I expected). Went out with friends got dinner, lunch, a movie, drinks on multiple occasions and made quite a few new friend that are my age (quite rare now).

Thanks very much to those who made my horribly busy week at work extremely enjoyable. It went by quite quickly

HI EVERYONE!

Just came back from dinner + fun on a Friday night.

Day started off quite dreary. Slept in, missed train, but got to work on time- funnily enough. Worked my ass of during the day.  Had lunch with the cadets and it just went over the hour. And I really regret that, because I ended up staying late after 5.15 today :(

Worked like a slave until 6ish when Bosco came up to eat his lunch (because apparently he spent >$8 on a disgusting sausage sizzle with the 3rd year BAcc even though he had a sandwich and a box of pasta from home).  Then we headed down to Charlie Chan's to start the night off.

Watched lots of homocrap go on between some guys, then everyone moved off to Wagaya's.

Oh. I forgot to mention this earlier, but we were saying gbye to crazy Grace.  It didn't really feel like gbye because I stalk her blog like I do, and it's not like I always see her in the office ;D  HAVE FUN AT UNI! AND IN LONDON!  Please give me a list of what to eat, places to see and things to do when you come back!  (& post up photos from today plox!)

Dumdidah. Dinner was yummy and fun. However, I think I will not be able to walk into Wagaya again within the next two months. We seriously need to start finding a new place to go to. A place which can accommodate a large bunch of loud auditors/uni students.

Afterwards Rohan, Bosco and I headed home, while I think everyone else went to Sanctuary.

On a negative note- busy season for me starts next week. Bad sign. I am booked non-stop until the October long weekend. Planning to take annual leave during the week after the holiday so I can go on a roadtrip to Melbourneeee.

Ramen?

Hi all.

I'm a bit reluctant to bring up Ramen weekend adventures because my weekends have been quite busy as of late.

I was planning to hit Imax today to see Toy Story 3 but I was just too worn out from belated birthday celebrations with D. :)  The party continued on from Friday night to Saturday because the cake wasn't finished. Plus soccer is still on and I really want to watch the rest of these games. Currently, I am living on 3 hours of sleep because I got up at 9 to do some washing up around the house.

Man. I really want to do this Ramen thing.  There is a tentative event this Saturday. But I'm hoping I can have a ramen lunch at Ichiban Boshi that day.  Plus I remember someone said they hadn't been before. And that is quite shocking because... WHO HASN'T BEEN TO ICHIBAN BOSHI?! :)

Bosco's starting work this week, along with the other coop kids! Quite exciting!  Too bad I'm in Auburn for this entire week. Next week I'll be in the office cos I'm unbooked! Yes. It feels like a long time ago that I was last unbooked. And after that week, I'll only have a free week in October. D: Sounds ages away.

Uni starts on Aug 2 for me. :( So far away...

Anyway. I'm up for lunch or dinner during the week I'm in the city. I want to catch up :(  (& watch Toy Story 3).

wondering about 21st's

hey all.

Just then, I was reading a thread where a girl was asking for advice on what to ask her parents for her 21st birthday.  I continued to scroll down the page and saw stuff like "oh, on my 21st my parents got me a merc", "my 21st was last week and I got a bvlgari bracelet and an all expense paid trip to Europe".

Oh em gee.

They must be loaded right? I have none of those expectations for my 21st birthday (even though it is quite far away).  I'd just expect some champagne and a nice cake decorated with fruit.

But on second thoughts, an all expenses paid trip to Europe sounds so nice.

At the moment I'm thinking of driving down to Melb for a couple of chillout days just before Christmas? I think it would feel refreshing but :/ yes, just thinking about it- no planning yet. I think my parents want to go to America.. we'll see how that pans out.

back to my original topic: is it seriously normal to expect your parents to get you a brand new merc for your 21st birthday?  i feel like it's quite unreasonable and slightly unrealistic :/

Hellohello everyone.

I am back from my crazy adventures/arduous paperwork in Orange/Manildra.

It is currently 1.30. I arrived home at about 20 mins ago, and we left our lodge/motel/apartment at 10am. When I got home, I had to check the clock properly to be sure it only took us 3 hours to get back from Orange.

I always say the returning journey feels shorter, BUT NOT THIS MUCH SHORTER?!

I keep thinking to myself- how did this happen? It must have been a combination of:

• speeding in the country, and also Castle Hill/ Baulko
• Lack of breaks taken, throwing aside "stop, revive, survive"
• my lack of consciousness (yes, I was asleep for the ENTIRE trip- lucky me)

Hopefully this post won't extend to a super long monologue because I want to continue napping for a bit ;D But all in all, I think Orange was a lovely place to go to for work. I regret saying all this crap about Orange/Manildra before, because I actually had a really good time.  (Plus they had really good breakfast/hatted restaurants there). But of course, I'm glad to be home. A bit bummed I JUST missed out on amazing race. :(

Anyway- hope you all have a lovely weekend!  (I'll be sampling the wine I brought back from the wine country ;)
