this dripping nose is driving me insane!

Hi all,

Today was a good Monday.

Except for the fact that the team and I got put into a freezing little meeting room.  The thing about new offices is ducted airconditioning.  Ducted airconditioning which you can't control.

So a nice warm day in Sydney turned into a super chill one for me.  As soon as I left the building at lunch to yumcha (AT SKY PHOENIX!) with some people from the office, my body started thawing. My nose was the tell tale sign. It just wouldn't stop dripping.

I am also experiencing a mild head ache right now. :(

But anyway, my client this week is uber nice. The lady who greeted me this morning dresses like Lady Gaga, but with pants on.  She has a very hollywood accent and got us all Lindt Hot Chocolates during the afternoon.

Man. I wish I worked in Martin Place all the time.

Then, instead of seeing cars on fire, bullet holes in windows, people getting arrested on the side of the road on the way to work, and witnessing drug deals, I could be watching people in suits walk by with their coffees in one hand and newspaper in the other.

Haaha. I read the above paragraph and laughed. That's not really what you see in the city.  During peak hour, you see women wearing flipflops/joggers carrying a bajillion bags (eco bag + laptop bag + handbag) and men holding compendiums.  People generally look nicer at lunchtime :)

Anyway, I think I might pop a pill and snooze for a bit.  Hope you all have a lovely week ahead!

And this is why arts at uni was never an option for me.

Seriously, I was that bored. I spent my time being unproductive when I am back home early.

Chopped ma locks!

I feel about 5 years younger with this hair.

Had the same cut in my junior days. Ahhh.

*Edit*

D hates my hair. He says he'll take me to another place to get it 'fixed up'. I don't see a problem with it >: (

bludgeeee

Hello all,

We haven't hit winter yet, but already I've been infected with some kind of sickness.  Our audit room is disgustingly filthy- full of coughing, sneezing and the smell of last night's dinner. And I have fallen. One of the last to fall- and on the second last day of this job.

Ahhh. Such is life.

Today I've been drifting in and out of sleep trying to get better. My voice is still croaky and M won't let me have any chicken soup- because apparently, it would make me feel worse.

So I am stuck here browsing through fb photos, feeling super jealous of friends who are in their last week of holidays. Siiiiggghhhh.

I shall go back to bed and have some happy dreams!

Nearly Friday!

Haaaha. Man. Let's hope this stock count is good. I've been having a mediocre week. Zzz

have a super weekend guys

Ps this blog counts as a secret life right? :P

pps. More people leaving at work. The worst part. Really. :(

Impulse

It's that time of the month again.. when my bank account is replenished with much needed funds to:

  1. Pay off my credit card bill (I really, REALLY don't like taking money out of my Netbank Saver. lol)
  2. Try, taste and see new things- I want to go to the chocolate room 8) Will hopefully get a chance on Friday night!!
Highlight of today- finishing work on time at 5.15 today. Spending spree at Woolworths, just because I can.  Supermarket deals that sell 2 products together for a lower price really suck me in. E.g. 2 bottles of Sunsilk Shampoo/Conditioner for a combined price ~ $7 when they cost almost that by the bottle. WHAT! And selling chocolate- 2 blocks for $3, when a single block costs $2. GAH and you only find this with junk food and not healthy goods like... stalks of celery or bags of potatoes. :(

Anyway, came home and parents were like O_O WHAT THE HELL, because I was lugging 2 bags of groceries. Nothing was healthy, but I mean seriously, I need the sugar.  I was feeling vain last week and told myself to lay off the coffee and tea because it stains teeth, but today I got right back into it.  I slept in 1 hour this morning, and still managed to get to work on time.  I dawdle too much in the morning. But I can't help it :|

Impulse bought more earrings at the station. Man. Getting my ears pierced was a BAD BAD BAD idea. Dumdidum. Increased spending over the Christmas & new years break at Myer resulted in nice gift card.  I know I will not be getting anything for the value of exactly $20. It will always go over. Gift cards are a trigger for spending.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

True story: a magician added me as a friend on FB. The friendship is still pending.  I think he's freaking cool, but I think it's not very cybersafe. :( Not everyone can say they're friends with a magic man. !! DILEMMA.

Hope you're all having a fine time~

Valentines Day Special

Hello all,

Hope you had a wonderful Valentines day either:

  • Moping about your single status and attenting anti-hallmark holidays dinners
  • rejoicing your single status & pickin' up
  • greedily accepting gifts from your other half
  • trading a painful amount of cash for a bunch of green stems and thorns
I did none of the above, but I was invited to do the first option by a few people. Hohoho.  But I declined, because I am not anti-Vday. I think I like the idea of a day dedicated to showing the world you care (or pretend to care) about your loved ones is a pretty sweet idea. I have to admit, boys are the disadvantaged ones on this holiday. It's either buy, or die fellas.  I was walking down George Street and saw these poor (quite literally) suckers struggling with these giant bundles of roses, teddy bears and chocolates.  Quite a sight!

Florists are the clear winners! Prices for flowers jacked up sky high. Cheapest place I saw today was selling bundles of 11 (I think) for $35!  Mx had an entire page for dedications. Hehe. I think the mood in the office today was also pretty mellow. 8) Work was great.

Anyway. Today I learned I have quite a reputation amongst some people in my division. Quite amusing to find out actually. Apparently, I have evolved from conservative girl to hardcore party girl (I'm sure this started by my senior I bumped into last week). So ridiculous(ly funny).  Three people also told me they would be very surprised if I had a Valentine next year. In return, I scared them off with my wtf-what-is-that-supposed-to-mean face. Haha!

Looking quite le frazzled after a day of playful workplace bullying. That's right. They always pick on the young ones.

I also learned that office gossip spreads like wildfire. Lol. Always check the email addresses of your intended mail recipient before you click send.  Otherwise you might end up sending an email to your entire division.

ANYWAY, hope you guys had a lovely day, and a lovely week. I might drop off the planet this week as I am at the big bad client again. For two weeks. Hopefully it won't be too bad this time. Miss you guys already :(

I also didn't win lotto. Sadface.

catching up...

... on sleep!

Just woke up not long ago, and I'm absolutely STARVING!

I think I'm coming down with a cold/flu, I've slept >15 hours today and my nose is blocked. Now when I talk, I sound like a nasally freak.

My weekend hasn't been so exciting. Actually, all the action/adventure was jampacked into my Friday night and I haven't been doing much apart from eating and sleeping and changing nappies. Babysitting. Yes. Phun. I don't like babies. D:

Just wanted to say, doing nothing can be extremely entertaining. I finally went to check my email and looked into my old, old mail from yr 7/8. Back then, everyone did those stupid quizzes where you fill out a questionaire form asking stuff like "Do you have a crush?" and "What are you thinking about right now?" and "What was the last thing you ate?".  It was a complete waste of time filling in those and forwarding them to other people, but EXTREMELY amusing to read again.

Anyway, digressing.  I spent Friday night like typical fob at uni would have. Workmates have been advising me to 'live a little' after the past couple of horrendous weeks, and I did. And it was hella strange.  Friday evening went a little like this:

  1. Went to a bar to farewell 2 friends from work.
  2. Had dinner at Menya.
  3. Karaoke-ed at Green Box. Met a random.
  4. Was taken to another bar, and met another random.
  5. Most unexpected of all, we ventured onto Oxford Street, lined up outside # 41 and got free entry into Slide Bar.
Yeah. I left at 12 because I was a bit out of my comfort zone and was in need of my bed for sleep and rest. But I was impressed with the last bar. It was so classy!  But yeah. Everyone there was either 1) Chinese, 2) Korean or 3) Viet.  The music was pretty bad, but I bopped to it anyway. A guy accidentally bumped into me and turned around to say sorry.

But he didn't.  Our eyes met.... AND IT WAS LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT!

Just kidding. It was my senior at work and it was damn awkward.

Oh man, I just can't help but cringe and burst out into laughter when I think about it.  It's just so unexpected. Let me paint a picture... with words.

Imagine someone who doesn't say much, doesn't dress very flash to to work, usually keeps his head down,  eats cans of No Frills baked beans in the lift after work for dinner (I mean, ok maybe he likes baked beans, but surely he could have gotten a bigger can? and  eaten it after he got out of the lift?)

Anyway, on Friday night, there he was, decked out in very very nice flash clothes and shoes, dancing with 2 scantily clad girls. HAHA.

OH MY GOSH. I KEEP DISCOVERING THE SECRET LIVES OF MY WORKMATES. HAHAHAHAHA.  Too unexpected. His bro happens to be clubbing king so I guess that explains a lot. And some people are really good at putting on their "work face" while they're at work.

Umm. I have nothing else to say about this topic actually. I will get over it eventually, but obviously that will take time.

Anyway, hope you guys had a nice weekend, and enjoy the next few weeks! Holidays are ending soon (suckers). I, personally can't wait until uni starts again.

Happy belated new years!

Hi all,

Hope you're all fine and dandy (and significantly richer from all those red pockets!).  Did everyone have a good new years?  We don't really celebrate it at home, but this year our extended family decided to get together and have a celebration.

Ahaha. The only thing is, we've been lacking a Chinese (redREDred) calendar since the beginning of the year, and for some strange reason, we all thought CNY was on the Wednesday, so the fam dinner would be on Tuesday.

Well, we were wrong. But we had fun celebrating one day earlier anyway!

K looking as beautiful as ever. Hahaaaaa.

I still have to post about Tetsuya's but I've been so busy lately (it's so crazy at work!) I haven't even had a chance to look through photos. But don't worry, the quality of my descriptions won't be too far off.  I can still remember the ten courses I had. Hehehe.

I've been bringing lunch nearly everyday but am itching to go out for lunch, esp when I'm in the office and surrounded by aromatic indian/thai restaurants.

Nearly Valentines day.  I wouldn't have noticed by just looking at today's date.  No. It was the spam I got from websites I subscribe to, members emails, newsletters, etc.  Kasumi's members newsletter is currently promoting the Love-Love roll, which is Eel sushi wrapped in PINK rice in the shape of a heart. The inner girl child in my is screaming I WANT I WANT, but sigh, I do not want to look like a loser and eat a couple set meal by myself. Actually, on second thoughts, I probably would. My sister was just commenting about how freak-like I am. :D I'll explain. A few weeks ago, I was feeling really particular about my keyring because the LED light that's attached to it kept falling off. So I logged onto Ebay and started looking for some really sturdy, but er cute metal designs.  I pretty much found nothing I liked... until I stumbled across couple keyrings. OMG most hilarious designs EVAR.  I bid and won. 2 keyrings for AU$4. How please I was with myself.  K found out, and started the topic of Couple items, which are really hot in Korea apparently.

But I'll stop digressing. Bottom line: I like sturdy keyrings.

There is other stuff on the Kasumi menu- slashed to half price during February (such as Sushi Sashimi combo- looks like its on a boat, costs $16.40 now, and you pay $5 for the house sake instead of the usual $10.  Yeah. So ... if you're free, and I'm not busy, eat with me at Kasumi. The sushi sashimi looks so good in that email.. sooo good...

Speaking of sashimi, my weekend plan is to go to the fish markets (again... man I always end up there), buy an Atlantic Salmon (usually around $70), take it home, carve it up, and have sashimi steak.

hahaha, everyone gets a bottle of soy sauce, and a tube of wasabi.  Breakfast, lunch and dinner all sorted for Sunday. Hellooooo worms.

Mature tastebuds

Hello all,

I just got back from a lovely dinner with a work friend.  Yes, the day finally arrived- we dined at Tetsuya's and I wasn't disappointed.

Photos will be up, but I have to find a way to get them from A's camera.  She happened to have a super lovely lumix and so I just hogged the camera all night ;D  Thankfully we remembered to take photos of everything before we started eating.  A food critic from South Africa forgot- and so I will be emailing him mine :)  Will dedicate a post to this in the near future when I've loaded all my photos onto the computer.  But in short, I loved having dinner there.  The $238 I paid altogether was worth it, experience is priceless!

Summary of today:
AM: Woke up (in the living room) and the aircon was still on! It's so damn hot for early Feb.
PM: Lunched with Joseph!  Trekked to Myer Food Court.  Got lost in Hyde Park (damnit).  Atm card got sucked in by the Atm and I was waiting for ages and ages at the bank to get it back.
PM: Worked super hard and got completely confused by my client (but that's not really worth talking about actually.  I'm sure he confused me on purpose because i. he hates me and ii. his boss wasn't hanging around to listen).  Took a taxi back to the office to meet A because I was running late at Wfield.
PM: Dined and had a blast.

Overall, excluding work, it's been an absolutely fantastic day.  Work wasn't too bad in terms of thinking- but in terms of volume- a bit overwhelming!

If you've got some cash to burn, please click HERE. Bubbles has posted some really interesting.  I'm particularly interested in seeing Tim Minchin because he is HILARIOUS.  However I think the timing might be a bit tight- they all finish around March, and the cheaper tickets are mostly sold out.

I urge those who want to see Mary Poppins to PLEASE LET ME KNOW because I am booking tickets this on Friday night. FOSHOBRO.  Get in quick. Cheaper tickets are under $50.  I think I'm also going to see Mulan with my family (Chinese acrobats :D)

Anyway, hope you guys have a lovely week and don't suffer too much in the sweltering heat!
