So I was just surfing facebook, typing names of people I've met at work. It's funny what you find, and most is quite unexpected.
At work, they're cool and calm and quite sophisticated. But on facebook, they're a crazy bleach fan, with lots and lots of cosplay photos. HAHA!
Though I guess the same goes for me. I thinking bringing my "real self" to work is harder than it seems.
Funtimes.

THE DAY I MUSTER UP MY COURAGE..
I can't find my cool ripped jeans. (I'm being serious- I do own ripped jeans)
Yes, everyone, it is my first ever casual Friday tomorrow! Why? Because it's "clean up" day and no one wants to get their suits dirty.

Yeaaah baby ;)
So, Monday turned out to be not-so-bad. My client is okay. I still had to take some work home, but, I doubt I'll get a chance to do it as I am still trying to figure out how to make error bars on excel.
Anyway, my mind was again plagued with the thoughts of holidaying in the GC/Melb (eating authentic churros) and shopping in asia D:
But then, I started thinking about cars, and my dad and I were planning this HUGE thing to scam the mother into letting us buy her a new car so I can drive the camry around and not really freak out if I scratch or crash it a bit. Hawhaw. My only issue is, that our camry is so big. :( I actually REALLY want to get the Mazda 2 (bright green!) because well, Mazda is sexy, AND I can afford it. However when I put that together with insurance and all those coloured slips and added features (no- not those rear spoilers- I meant mudflaps and tailored floor mats), I'm not sure if I actually can afford it.
Euuggh. But yeah, I'm worried about starting out and bashing my car around :( Then I'll spend more fixing it up!
Have no faith in second hand cars. Previous owner could have been a nose picker-er, or farted alot into his seats or been someone weird like that D:
euuughhh so gross.
PS I really loved Deva's post today.
PPS. I changed my studs 2-3 days ago, and the first thing I did was try on all the different earrings I own (HAHA- turned out to be quite a bad idea because my earlobes were feeling quite sore by the end of it), including the pair of blood diamonds I got from Gaby and Bryan (or Lo Zio) a while ago. I loved it, but then after a while it got a bit heavy and sagged. :( I think I have really weak earlobes. No muscle.

2am- holidaays can't come any slower
**advertisement: looking for a skinny junior girl to buy a skinny senior uniform. excellent condition- previous owner is not stinky ;) (I know you're reading this :P )- contact me for more details**
I want to blow off my overseas trip to go on a road trip. Or a plane trip to the GC.
At dinner my sister chucked a HUGE hissy fit about "missing out on summer again".
I keep thinking about holidays even though I have more than 2 months of work to go. This is turning out to be really bad, because I spend all this time visiting web-jet.com and googling "budget stay in melbourne/GC" instead of doing my hw/assignments.
There's a work retreat coming up, and we're staying at the CP in the hunter. I'm unsure as to how fun it will be, but hopefully I will have made enough friends at work to make it moderately enjoyable.
The thing about where I work, is the high turnover rate. And I guess it really bugs me because people keep leaving :(. I mean, its hard enough getting to know you from the very beginning (age difference and all), but then leaving (I'm really good at awkward goodbyes) + I have 1 less person to have lunch with in the office?! Maybe its just me, but I find it REALLY hard to get to know/meet someone properly when you're not directly working with them.
Example senario. Sitting in the office in the area with the unallocated seats. Room starts to fill up and a random (who looks like a new grad) sits down next to you and sets up her laptop to commence work. Most often than not, I find myself continuing my work and look like I haven't noticed someone next to me, while thinking of all these different ways to strike up a conversation. When I do, though, I don't regret it, because people I meet at work are usually fantastic and have a very good sense of humour/taste in clothing (haha!). New grads are actually very eager to make new friends in the office. That will be some of you in a few years time.
Ughh started talking about work again. Would I rather talk about T distributions? I guess not.
Hmph :( I've just realised how tired I am. I'm a bit sick of the staff they've cut off my current team I have so much work to do. And uni, I wish everyone would put in a bit more effort into our group work. And home? I wish everyone would stop argueing less and making more brownies. I really want some brownies. :( Will someone make me some brownies and a cup of hot chocolate to drown my sorrows?

blowing up your mind
Hello and good afternoon good people. It is the long awaited Saturday, and I wasted half of it sleeping in.
On my way to work yesterday morning I got held up by the lollyman when I was heading to the station. He and I go way back as I used to hang around the lolly shop heaps and ask about new foreign candy.
So get this, Wrigley's extra comes in three extra flavours in the US now.
- Mint chocolate chip
- Key Lime Pie
- Strawberry Shortcake

An excess of excess
HEY(ARNOLD)!
Today during my lunch break, a friend from work was talking about getting quotes for engagement rings because he's planning to get hitched (hehe). What was so shocking to me is the PRICE of an engagement ring. People say an engagement ring should roughly cost 3 months of pay. Today I discovered three months of my pay will get me a diamond the colour of pee and with little gritty things in it.
They are graded from A to G or something, with G being yellow and gritty and A being an extremely beautiful piece of rock. Blerg. Here's the thing. An average engagement ring (Grade F) will cost you 20 grand, and a grade D will absolutely rip your wallet house in half at 100 grand.
WHAT THE HELL.
My friend just looked at my facial expression and said "I don't understand, why are YOU worrying about this".
And he is right.
From today onwards, I officially look forward to getting engaged!

Materialism and excess
Good afternoon peeps.
As I sit and procrastinate here on my blog, putting off my 3000 word essay, I notice I have alot of junk on my desk. Hawhaw, and most of it shouldn't even be there.
In one corner (nearest to the mirror/wardrobe) I have my "beauty products". They're all there instead of being in an organiser I bought earlier this year (waste of money. Organisers are for organised people). I always thought I was simple, keep self pamper to the minimum person, but it turns out, I have an excess of material goods. Antiseptic spray, bio oil, deodorant, hand therapy lotion, lucas pawpaw, body butter, moisturising cream, spf, handcream. WHAT? I can't believe I use all this daily! And what I can't believe even more, is that this collection equates to a sum of over $100.
On the other corner of my desk I have alot of my CYA "cover your ass" workpapers/invoices/delivery dockets/system screen dumps which I've taken home from work just incase an issue comes up before one of my jobs are signed off. I haven't even been at work for a year, and the piles stack up quite high.
Then, in the centre, I have my computers. We have the desktop monitor, my red dell, and my work laptop. What I don't understand is why there are 4 mice!
Dumdidum. My chargers sit in one corner. I have a box I used to keep all my chargers and cables in: phone, iPod, camera, old camera, usb, etheral, etc, but I've gotten so lazy I just never put things back where they come from. I mean, there's not much point in unplugging and recoiling my phone charger when I'm going to be using it everyday right?
My stationary corner is probably the neatest one. There are a few stray pens and highlighters scattered on my desk, but the organiser I use most effectively is definitely my err what do you call them.. stationery holders? Ceramic cups for pens and highlighters? No idea.
Wallet, keys, security passes for work, phone, iPod- daily essentials are also here or in my bag on the floor. ;D Gosh. I finally got around to activating my new cards (hello book depository without having to wait 5 days for my paypal to process!), including Chatime. While cleaning out my wallet, I discovered I should stop withdrawing from my account so regularly and I will save money (and buy stuff when I'm overseas :) and I found my MyerOne giftcard! YAY! I've been looking for that for ages and never thought to look in my wallet. Put away cards I won't be needing i.e. Woolies everyday rewards, Qantas FF card and Road side assist card. All of my receipts are for food. :( Next to my computers I have a photoframe with who else but Chezza and I from junior day. I luff it lots especially the fuzzy totoro that sticks out. ;D
Currently thinking of getting a corkboard to hang behind my door so I can pin up my few bits of jewelry and my calendar.
I also have food on my table, but let's not get into that. I don't know how long it's been there. The fact is, I only sit at my desk when I have to do an assignment. My dad's the usual occupant of this space :)
Actually, looking around, I realise I have junk EVERYWHERE in my room. Maybe I can blog about that next time. lol
Hate Sundays before an assignment is due. D:
PS. I should be jetting off to HK between the 18 Dec- 9 Jan. Hope the aud stays strong! If so I may extend my trip to the US & Canada as well!

curly fries & a whole lot of disjointed things
Good evening all.
After a bajillion unfinished posts sitting in my "drafts" folder, I feel determined RIGHT NOW to finish this post tonight. It will not have photos because that'll just take way way wayyy too long.
Anyway, just a quick recap. I'm relearning french! Not really, I'm just working with a secondee from France and it's just a whole lot of fun reciting the whole "Salut Lucille, Salut Mary-France, Cava, cava et toi, pas mal. regard le garcon la ba, qui esq, ce Paul, Il est Australien; Il parle Francais, oui en peu, Il est sympa, oui tres sympa". It's October already, work is steady, uni is taking over, and my social life is at a standstill. That is, until tomorrow night.
Yep. Night Noodle Markets. Along with thousands of other Sydney siders and tourists, I will be heading to the annual noodle market at Hyde Park. Yayers. Quite pumped. These past weeks, I've been indulging in all these different foods. I've been sampling the menu at Meet Fresh (Taiwanese Dessert Store, cnr Dixon & Goulburn), and I've found it to be quite disappointing.
The cafeteria near the building I'm working in serves a lovely array of high cholesterol foods. Lately I've been getting off my arse and jogging to places away from the pantry and fridge. Haha. Today for breakfast I had two slices of buttered toast with jam and a cup of milk tea.
Lunch quickly came by (my gosh, this week is going by too quickly), and I headed down to the lovely cafe for some of their Chicken Tortellini. So incredibly tasty and fulfilling. Then work finished relatively early and my colleagues and I headed to the closest shopping centre. They went to do some shopping, I went because I was hitching a ride to the station.
But when we were walking through the shopping centre, I couldn't help but spot BAGEL HOUSE! Thanks to a conversation I had with another colleague earlier today, I couldn't resist the temptation to walk into the store and order myself a serving of curly fries with Moroccan salt.
I ended up ordering that and a beef burger bagel. Which was super good if you were wondering. SO, if I can recall correctly, any of the gourmet bagels on the selection board are $8.90 and the curly fries are $3.90 or something like that. (damn those $0.90- a marketing trick!) If you're ever in Macq Centre (Megaplex) you seriously gotta check that place out. They make some MEAN curly fries.
Yesterday, I was pretty much killing myself with KFC chicken and the MacDonalds' new "McDouble" burger. OMG cheesy goodness + original fillet burger + chicken salted chips + mountain dew = PIG, but who cares. (Ok I care, but it will all come off this week harhar).
On Tuesday, I also went to cafeteria and had a Thai beef gourmet sandwich. Mmmmm.
On Monday, I had a healthy "left over dinner" lunch as I was so determined on saving money this week for my upcoming sugar hit expeditions. But then I couldn't resist. I love working in Macq. At night, I had my regular cheeseburger-meal-to-eat-during-marketing-lecture.
Thank goodness I've been going out for a run every morning. Otherwise I would have died from heart failure/blockage already :(
On the weekend, I experimented with the different flavours of the Chatime menu, and also the menu from Meet Fresh. Their herbal jelly flavour is getting more and more diluted every time I go (I've been 5 times since it opened. oh em gee. NEVER GOING AGAIN. It's terrible. Those girls that serve behind the counter are so damn slow it's impractical. You see a long queue outside the store- don't be fooled. It's not because the menu is interesting and delicious and everyone wants a bit of it; no, it's not that. It's the fact that the girls take about 5-10 minutes to serve a customer (from the time someone orders, to the point where they receive their tray with the sweet goods on it...). It's ridiculous. Oh and also, they keep running out of taroballs.
The second time I went, they had a small cardboard sign at the register saying "no more taroballs no. 4 and 7" or something like that.
pause. deep breath. ok.
First of all, if you've run out of something, make your sign NICE AND BIG so people in the long queue can see it so they can start thinking of other things they can order, so they don't have to make a last minute decision at the counter- making it an even longer wait for the person behind.
Second of all, it's okay if you run out of things once. But after that time, learn to stock more. Stop running out everyday before 2pm. It's not a good business strategy. Sorry, it's not even a strategy. It's bad business planning. Why let bucket loads of business wash into the drain just like that? Urgghh.
And lastly, I started lining up at 1pm once, and when I got to the front they said "no more taroballs no. 3, 4, 7". Wow, I really wanted to strangle someone. I made a custom order, and guess what, I ordered ingredients from the "sold out" desserts, and I got all of them. Yes. Custom order = 60c per extra topping. I pretty much ordered a no. 4, but for $1.80 extra. Crafty business, I tell you. I am no longer their customer.
I realise this is becoming a really, really long rant/post about food, but I can't help it.
Ok. LISTEN UP! There's a new place opposite the UTS Haymarket Campus. I've forgotten what it's called, but they serve savoury (and sweet i think) fondue with the dipping cheese and the meat on sticks. OH MY GOODNESS. I have tried so many times to google that place to find out the name so I can do some bg research, but I've just failed so miserably. Google searches include "opposite UTS fondue restaurant", "dipping cheese restaurant sydney", "dipping cheese haymarket", etc, etc. I am now sick and tired of typing stupid things into Google and not getting anything back.
This weekend, I will take a photo of the restaurant so I can remember the name.
I think it's also Taiwanese, not sure, but they're usually the quirky ones. And I like quirky. I also happen to love the idea of dipping meat into melted cheese, or strawberries into melted chocolate. Cost- quite expensive. It's about $12 for a few lumps of meat on a plate. But definitely a place I want to try out.
I can't remember if I've blogged about Tony Rossi and ribs? But I'll save that for another day.
I want to get a start on my management essay. It's 3000 words and due on Wednesday (but I have to put it into Turn it in). I also need to look for my camera. (my sister found my old camera in my old schoolbag lol. guess i never emptied it out properly).
ANYWAY, hope you guys have a lovely Friday + weekend. I'll be sure to blog soon about this mysterious fondue place :)

ITS SO FLUFFY IM GONNA DIE
So $10 later, I have a pair of 3D glasses, a wilder imagination, and a strong urge to go see wallstreet.
haw haw haw hee hee hee 1 day after watching Easy A (yes I am also advertising it -->), I noticed there is a Penn Badgely look alike at work. More importantly, penn badgely works in my division.
I discovered this when I was seeking out the canapes people were serving at our meeting/ end of busy season partay today. He was whispering in the waitress' ear, and I freaked out for a sec because I thought he was the real penn badgely.
ohoho. This was probably the high and lowlight of my day.
Anyway highlight of the week would be the numerous times people have called me out of work hours. THANK YOU MAWSON, for RING DING DONG :D :D SHINEE LOOOOVE. *does the ring ding dong dance*
If you try calling me, and I don't answer, it's probably because I'm too busy dancing to my new ringtone.
I LOFFS IT LOTS.
and like mawson would say it -
my life is now complete
