It's over!

Hello sem break! Came home yesterday evening after a celebratory lunch with C and A ($$$ sushi train at umi-kaiten zushi - scampi =$6.50) and sat down with a book.

Then, I familiarized myself with 2u English again and helped K with her essay. Went to bed at 2 =____= so much for going to bed on time after exams. I guess it was for a good cause and K is again reminded that she is forever indebted to me. Forever.

But her texts were interesting- I watched a segment of "The Falling Man" a really horrifying documentary about people who jumped outta the twin towers after the planes flew into the buildings.

I went to bed still thinking about that and ended up dreaming about being stuck in an earthquake and tsunami.

Anyway this morning I sat down with heart of darkness for about an hour or so. When I was reading A Walk to Remember yesterday, 1 hour equated to half the book. Heart of Darkness was so much more difficult to read and I found myself reading lines again and again to fully understand what was happening. It is a really satisfying read though.

After washing my hair, I gave myself an impromptu haircut. I chopped off about 20cm and got rid of my bottom layers. Best decision ever. My head feels so much lighter!

Aaaannyway, heading into the city to get driven to Granville (I know right?) to catch up with some buds. Cannot wait. I'm gonna hit up Zara again to try on the same blazer I always try. It's so nice, but I can't justify buying anything in Sydney anymore. (besides, if I just try it on, cost per wear = free ? :D )

Hope everyone is finished with exams by now. Time to chillllaaaaxxx.

Milkless milkshake shaker.

I took out my drink bottle before my exam and heard the guy next to me ask "you drink protein shakes?

Told him it was a milk shake shaker and he laughed.

It's a milk shake shaker ok?!

Theory: good looking doctors get more patients

Early lunch. Feeling like a starvin' Marvin right now.

I knew I couldn't avoid Carlingford Court forever but since I was by myself this morning, I didn't get any racist remarks thrown at me. Ahaha. Anyway went to see the doctor about my eye. I was right. It's nothing serious and I can't do anything about it.

I've never liked going to the doctors, but it's a different story when the doc's a good looking and funny guy. I know who I'm going to the next time I get sick.

Jaaaaaakes. I don't really like the receptionists. One of the receptionists was being a bitch. I was 5 minutes late and she gave me so much attitude. 2 of the 5 minutes was spent waiting in line... And the other 3 minutes were spent standing at Pennant Hills road, waiting to cross. So much traffic.

What the hell man. I ended up waiting 10-15 minutes anyway.

Anyway, time to dive back into my corporations act.

Sad times.

self diagnosis

I've been walking around for the whole week with a nasty lump on my right eyelid.

Thanks to Dr Google, I have diagnosed this condition as an inflammed sebaceous cyst. Trapped keratin.... protein?

It partially blocks my vision even though it's not that big (5mm in diameter on a good day).  I hope there is some easy way to get rid of it, I'm sick of people telling me they've never had a pimple grow on their eye.

:(

Ew just googled imaged it. Mine doesn't look bad in comparison.

Eeek.

Caught stark nekkid in the middle of the storm

Metaphorically of course.

Today marks a new lowlight in my close-to-non-existent academic career. I found the test so difficult.

I am am at peace with knowing I'll have to do this blasted subject again next semester. Damn you Lepone. I'm coming after you.

In other (hilarious) news, someone registered my email at a few hookup websites. Did you know, the world doesnt just have Facebook but a shagbook too?

Oh boy :(

What a day

Why post-its are useful pt 2

I have upgraded from my kapers sticky notes.

Please excuse the hair. This is what happens when I let it air dry after washing.

I have to start using these, otherwise they're gonna dry up and not be sticky.  I'm such a stationery hoarder.

PS Happy birthday J! Hope you're having fun on sem break!  Can you believe we've been buds for 10 years? TEN YEARS?!?!?!!?

PPS. Ahahaha. My news feed is going nuts.

Bringing out the big guns

Time to bring out the thicker lenses.

Hungry like the wolf also.

If I was LeBron, I'd just get my chef to whip me up some supper.

Currently catching up with Laura Vitale vids. I love the way she talks and what she makes. So hungry :'(

I don't know why I always thought pizza dough is rolled out. I mean, I knew about the spinning, and throwing it into the air and stuff... But I had no idea you just pulled and tugged until the dough reaches the size you want it. So simple... Genius.

the week I ate lots of kiwis because M bought heaps

Thanks guys - for all the nice comments in my last post :)

I did so much today. Nothing was related to study, but who cares - exam is on Wednesday, I'll worry about it when I wake up. [FYI, its not bad study ethic if you know the course material well, and all notes have been written up. :D I'm all ok for Wednesday's exam].

Highlight of the day - 30 minute photo shoot session before the cake was cut.  Note, if you think I'm a big phototakerthingymabob, you should meet D. He's even bossier than me when it comes to taking photos of the birthday girl/man in the house.  But poor K. She had an early morning at school, and a long night at tutoring before coming home around 8ish for dinner and cake. Birthdays are happytimes. K thanked M + D for creation, and me for wrapping her up in nappies for YEARS. Haha. That's right. Years.

Instagram goodness. I realised K's name is here, but w/e I'm sure I've mentioned it a bajillion times before.
If you've been reading my blog during stuvac, you know I've been subject to cooking lessons by M. And by cooking lessons, I mean her barking at me to get dinner started haha. Tonight's menu included ABALONE.

This was one tasty shellfish :D
Unfortunately, because I was serving, I had to leave myself with the ugliest abalone.  The things I do for this family.

This week shall be dubbed "The week I ate lots of kiwi because M bought heaps".  Persimmons + kiwi is a funderful combination. It's sweet and tangy and the perfect afternoon snack / dessert. Had my first golden kiwi a few days ago and I am IN LOVE. Never buying green ones AGAIN if the golden ones are in season.
SO SO SO sweet, golden kiwi

Persimmons + kiwi fruit

Oranges + kiwi fruit

Pink lady apples + kiwi fruit - hooray! a dessert fork!
Onto some other stuff - I'm a bit sick of seeing kiwi now. (funfact, apparently our stomachs can't digest the little seeds in the fruit and so they just come out in our poop. Apparently it's true. My Gma told me that she was changing my nappy once (many, many years ago) and found lots of little black dots after I was fed kiwi. mmm. TMI for sure, but yeah, hahaha - maybe I'll edit this out later...

Food List.
If anyone's thinking of going to TW anytime soon, maybe eat your way through this list. After making a rough estimate of how much it will cost to travel the US over the summer hols, I've realised that I won't have enough money to go anywhere else (esp if I want to hold a 21st - eek, these cost so much!).

Long time followers will know I am a huge fan of the 大腸包小腸 aka sticky rice sausage. The little TW dessert shop in Dixon makes my ABSOLUTE fave pickled relish. I swear, I could eat that all day. I love anything pickled, sweet, sour and tangy! Back in the old days, when M left the house to hang the washing, I'd tear into the fridge and feast on pickled gherkins!  When I'm in New York, I'm definitely hitting up pickle stores owned by Jewish people. (I'm starting to think that a week in NYC won't be enough for me!).

A few days ago, I was on Cnet looking at camera reviews for one from the Panasonic Lumix range. In the end, I decided that since I already have a nice point and shoot, there really is no point in buying a more luxurious one, especially if I'm not going to pursue photography as a hobby. So instead, I hopped on Ebay and bought a spare battery.  Oh man. It costed me $18.   I need to cut down on spending this month.

But I also need new work clothes.

Ahh what a quandary I'm in (and an embarrassing one at that!). I've gone down a size since I stopped working.  All the work clothes I bought, I bought in anticipation of going up a size. BUT I WENT DOWN! So my lovely Tokito skirts are too loose on me now. I so regret buying the bigger size. Why did I underestimate myself?!

Ok. I'm gonna hit the sack before this turns into a full blow rant about clothes. Not a very deep post today - too full on cake to think, really.

But anyway, have a lovely week guys :) Not sure if I'll be posting in these few days. I really need to get a crackdown on finance and corps law.   Keep me updated with post-exam plans.

PS. Anyone who's keen on going to the snow, I found some really good deals to NZ. There are ones within Aus too. Won't be going this year - but these deals are so good. $138 flight to NZ?!?!

PPS. You also have to check out this hilarious article by CNNGO. It's titled "How to converse around the world with 5 conversation topics" - a 'how to' guide for awkward travellers. The one for Australia is pretty on the dot I think.

*EDIT* PPPS. REMEMBER THIS POST?!  I talked about my friend who was looking through engagement ring catalogues - deep discussion 100 grand diamonds and how I was looking forward to getting engaged.... well HE BOUGHT A RING. He didn't disclose the diamond grade (harhar) BUT WOOHOO SO HAPPY (for him and his gf). This means there's another wedding to go to in the not-so-distant future (provided that she says yes, of course!).

High on life

We bought bananas from woolies today so I made banana bread. I need to invest in some handsome crockery if they keep appearing on instagram. My Corelle plates and bowls are too mainstream.

I had the most MORTIFYING experience grocery shopping today. D and I had a run in with a racist old man who pushed his trolley into D's leg 3 TIMES! He also told us to "go back to where you came from". I realised how incredibly resilient I am because nothing happened inside me. Nothing ticked or pissed me off. I mean, afterall, who hasn't had racist remarks thrown at them every so often, right? Well apparently this doesn't happen to D often enough. He absolutely blew up in the middle of the supermarket. I was clutching onto him with all my strength to stop him from confronting that old racist bastard, but he just flung me off like a kid with nose boogers. But of course when D was paying at the counter I did give that man a very dirty look and told him he was very rude and racist- and a very bad influence on all the small children around us. I also threw in something a hippy would say "get over yourself and embrace diversity". When I left, I felt many accusing looks glance his way. But the more I think about it, the less OK I feel. In this day and age, these people still think its ok to think like this, let alone say it out loud? Sistah, look around you. You're shopping at CARLINGFORD COURT, being surrounded by all sorts of ethnicities. Wtf. And WHY oh WHY would you pick on the 1.9m guy who could pound you to shreds. It takes so much strength to hold him back. (At home, D was like " WHY DID YOU HOLD ME BACK, I WAS SO READY TO POUND HIS FACE IN" etc etc).

I will not be shopping at Carlo Court in a long while. I fear we have been blacklisted for causing a scene.

But yeah, so that's one of the more depressing stories of the day. Wow I totally diverged from my original topic.

So, you know when you try to stalk someone down on fb, but you are sorely disappointed to find out that their privacy settings are as tight as the security at the Star (or my fb)? I had one of those moments a few days ago. I've been trying to ... gain more insight into X after hearing a few people talk about this person. Found nothing on fb. Then went to other social networking sites- found an account, but privacy is also tight as.

Well today, I accidentally stumbled across X's instagram. NO JOKE, I was searching something random by tags and FOUND IT. Went a bit hyper when I found it because there were a mother load of photos uploaded and not on privacy mode. It was so great - I had a ball flicking through all the pics!

I know this sounds incredibly creepy...

I also find this a bit creepy- coming across this by absolute chance...

Btw, the photos aren't dodgy or anything... Just nice food pics that I wanted to see :D just needed to clarify.

Ps. I was shocked with the number of comments in my last post ahaha (thanks!). Isn't domestic divinity's blog really interesting? I love her posts :)

Pps: HBD K! Go on tumblr/YouTube/fb less and study for HSC ok?

what's pink and fluffy?

Me apparently.

A week or two ago when I was horribly sick, my parents went out and bought me a robe! It's really... fibrous and furry - super nice to touch; I seem to be getting more hugs outta the fam with this robe on harhar.

I like to style this robe with the sleeves pulled up and hair in a ponytail when I am performing domestic duties. Check out my fading ombre arm tan!

Of course everything looks more beautiful with a filter applied!

Downloaded the City2Surf app today and I was gobsmacked by the suggested training regime - it bruised my ego so badly. If you follow their 10 week training plan for beginners, you should already be stuck in the later stages of week 2, training 5 days a week, and reaching a long run of 8km. WHAT THE HELL. I was so proud of doing 4km on the treadmill :( :(

SO MUCH JUNK MAIL
Anyway, no thanks to facebook, I found out about the wiki game. I played and got better.  When people throw motivational comments at me like "YOU WON!", I can't stop. This is why I don't gamble.
Seven legged octopus?

Improving

Best I ever got

Last game I played

When it comes to internet games, I guess I am a bad sport (except Pang96 - anytime is a good time for Pang96; nothing like nostalgia and adrenaline rolled up into one). I couldn't get 1st ever so.. yeah ragequit.

Slightly digressing (to a more interesting topic, I assure you), recently a friend asked me what I thought about gold digging. And by this, I assumed she meant preying on old men for moolah - I said I thought it was ok if you actually had feelings for your sugardaddy. Hmm. I felt weird typing that. But anywho, it got me thinking about age difference. What is an acceptable age difference?

Thanks wiki - you really do have everything.
So there's the half-you-age-plus-seven "rule", but I have mixed feelings about this. The easiest way to illustrate this is with scenarios:

1. Younger person= 16/17, older person = 20
3-4 year age difference doesn't seem like much, but if you think about it, the younger person is someone in high school. Is that really ok? When someone gave me this scenario, my first reaction was "oh yeah, no probs 3-4 years is nothing". But then I realised K is 16/17, and I most definitely would not be ok with her going out with someone in/almost-graduating from uni. Perhaps this is my overprotectiveness talking, but er no way.

2. Younger person = 20, older person = 25
Again, 5 years doesn't seem like that much, but in real life terms, that is like an intern going out with and almost manager. This is actually based on a true story (old story, but true nonetheless - the couple are now happily married with kids and are still working in the same coy). Maybe there would have been less shock factor if both people didn't work in the same office/floor/project. But yes, come performance review time, I imagine the claws were out and there was a bit of bitching going around.

3. Younger person = 35, older person = 55
I think you start getting called a cradle snatcher/cougar at this point. Sad times, but quite frankly, you could be the other person's mother/father.

4. Younger person =65, older person = off the charts
Not much to say about this. Just wanted you to think and imagine what it would look like :)

While I was doing some research about accommodation in LA/NYC, I found a 23yo girl's blog. At first I didn't realise she was married and I was just scrolling through pictures of luxe-lookin' food from exxy restaurants, LV speedy's, designer make up, designer fashion, exxy home decor and I was just thinking, uh, wah?

23 yo, living in the middle of the city, admin in an accounting firm... affording all this?  What am I doing wrong? I don't see myself in the same place in a few years...

And then I learned she had a husband 10 years her senior.

I guess it comes in handy to have one of those when you're a semi-famous lifestyle blogger.

Regardless, I adore her blog. Domestic divinity - reading it makes me feel like I am living frugally, therefore less guilt. I know it's all relative, but it serves as temporary guilt relief.

Ah this is bad. It's 3.30 and I am knee deep in someone else's life. I tried going to  bed, but just started surfing the net on my netbook. :(

Exams could not come sooner. I just want to get them over and done with.

Important announcement - HAPPY BIRTHDAY to le BFF. We are finally the same age again (although at times I feel like you act like the more mature one).  I'm really glad that 10 years ago, I had an argument with the other girl and that I moved bunks at camp. And thank you for swapping beds with me after I continually hit my head on the bunk bed bar - you saved me 10000000 brain cells. I hope you have a really, really lovely day (despite exams and all) because I reckon you really deserve it :D I won't come pester because I know you have a valuations exam on Monday. Good luck - knowing you, you'll probs ace it with no probs.

[Background story- so in yr 5 we had a camp to Kurrajong. I was sharing a bunk with a girl - who I had a falling out with on the night of the camp.  In frustration, I bunked with C who was sleeping in the top bunk.  Back then, I had this strange obsession with the game Go Fish and I kept leaving my bed to play with the other girls in the cabin. But everytime I left my bed, I'd hit my head on the metal railing supporting the top bunk, and the same thing would happen when I got back in bed. Maybe I'm just retarded, but I never learned to dodge the bar that night.  Anyway, she either got really frustrated after continually being woken by the GLONNNGGGG of my skull on the railing, or maybe she just acted out of kindness (I'm sure its the latter - lol), but she offered to let me sleep up the top (not something every other 10/11 year old would do). That kindness I'll always remember ahaha.]

Long post. I finally feel sleepy enough to go back to bed.

Happy Sunday y'all. I hope we get a bit of sunshine in the morning!

PS. Can you believe I got sucked into NBA? I've been watching the finals and its MAAAAADD.  I believe this interest will fade once exams are over.

Aspires to be an accountant?

Miss HK pageant:

Very brave. No one really says this IRL.

You've got my vote (not that my voting counts or anything). But I heart accountants, yo. What can I say?

Here I am again, trawling through updated blogs, avoiding studying =_=

First exam is Wed. It seems super far away, but I know it'll creep up on me.

Good luck and have a nice weekend folks!

Scheduled post

Since D's been in Melb, everyone else seems to not eat at the same table. I've been eating by my lonesome self a lot.

Stuvac is a great excuse to eat well. I've been cooking a lot more since uni started - my mum calls it wife training, but honestly, it's so therapeutic. There's no time to think about anything else when you have to watch over 2 pots and a pan. There's also a huge sense of achievement at the end when you sit down for dinner.

You feel thankful over the simplest of things. Like cooking rice - it's so much harder than every says it is to make perfect rice. But it's also quite liberating to know that you don't have to follow a recipe to make a good dish.

Made-from-scratch bolognaise

Jumbo breakfast
A more "constructive" form of procrastinating. I was testing my pens to see which ones I should take into the exam. Ahaha. This is another pre-exam ritual I perform bi-annually.

*dat shit cray

C, A, B and I hit up Cafe Giulia yesterday arvo for some nice lunch.  This little cafe is tucked away in Chippendale, but had a megaload of customers. It's about 10-15 mins walk from uni.  Definitely somewhere I'd go again. Food ranged from $9ish to $20ish.

Cafe Giulia

Why does everything look better via Instagram?

Celebrated good weather by walking through the park!  Blargh, there were still a few mud patched around. I didn't realise until I stepped into them.  MY BOOTS :(
Sunshineee on my shouldersss makes me happy!

Mustard is not that 'in' anymore, but I still love it heaps. (Don't buy mustard pants though - I've seen people sport yellow pants and it looks like they're not wearing anything...)

fragile

Today I am again reminded of how fragile life really is.

I hope you all live your life well and have minimal regrets because in this vulnerable world, anyday could be our last.

Today the world lost its funniest auditor. We'll remember your jokes, don't worry! You will be missed, but I hope you're in a better place now. RIP.

an honourable mention

I don't care what they say, I reckon David Gallop's a pretty decent guy.

The only good things about working on that job, are the people I get to meet and the many more that I bump into in the hallways.  This includes famous people. My kind of people.

Kidddinnnggg, though I did bump into quite a few :) (and the dads of some rising stars)

But yeah, imo, Gallop's held the position pretty well over the past... what almost ten years?  He seems pretty on the ball.

Although I think it's a good idea to have a footy commission, I have to say, it took WAY too long to get it in place. Behind the scenes, it was a horrid mess. It was a bit of a waste of time and money, but I guess it's sort of on its way now so... no point in talking about the past.

It was sad that he had to leave via the side doors though. Nobody uses the side doors. I went once but only because I was curious.

Ahh so much politics. I'm never in one place long enough to get the hang of what's going on around me. I guess it's a good thing though - you don't want to get too caught up in all that shizzle when you want to get work done.

***

I'm back to my compulsive blogger ways. D: Didn't even last a week.

Uni tomorrow - and I want to get a haircut afterwards. Today when I was blow drying my long-ass fringe, I thought I looked a bit like the Ring girl. So . um. Yeah, time to pay my hairdresser a visit. This time I'll bring a picture so nothing will be lost in translation.

AHAHAHAHAHA

Procrastinating to the max. This song has been playing in my head on loop.  I've never felt so gangster in my pink robe/furry polka dot slippers.

Anyway, in other news, I think I am burnt out from reading my textbook.  sadtimes.

Dying from hungerrrr

I can't sleep. Too hungry !! D: I already made a sandwich but I'm still hunguurrryyyy. Damn you instagram.

away we happened - just one thought

HOW AWKWARD IS THIS?!

Every episode I find myself cringing and giggling, burying my face into hands, while muttering "omgggg its so awkward".

But that's how it's supposed to be right?  I love it.

IRL I have these cringe/giggle-worthy awkward moments ALL the time. To me, it's a true representation of life. Just minus Victor Kim and Jen frmheadtotoe.

K actually yelled from the next room "ARE YOU WATCHING WONGFU AGAIN?!"

She knows me too well.

Ah Wongfu, the day you stop making cliche and feel good movies, I will be so devo.

PS. This ad made me lol. So funny. Reminds me of Sven the masseuse

En garde!

We are 43.9% through 2012.  Can you believe it? Time has gone by so fast. Wowee.

According to Brené Brown, you need to be vulnerable to live life to the full. When you stop yourself from feeling vulnerable, you also numb your receptors of happiness and other feelings.

This has made me realise:
  1. I'm pretty on guard all the time- emotionally and I try not to let things get to me easily.
  2. I am harsh to myself and not compassionate enough to other people.
  3. If Brené asked me about love, I would tell her about heartbreak, if she asked me about belonging, I would tell her the most excruciating experience of HSC English being exluded, and if she asked me about connection I would most definitely talk about disconnection.

This is something I will be working on. To be a better person to myself and everyone else around me.. and all that shizzzzzz :)

Yeah, I know I normally don't talk about this sort of stuff - but it's actually worth sharing and I'm sure 20 minutes of listening to her won't do you much harm. I like to think about this stuff - it is stress free and so much better than finance. Haha.

In other news, I went back to my "must read" books post and realised that I haven't made much progress this year.  All the books I have been reading this year are more... contemporary, I guess and aren't really in the Penguin Popular Classics range.  So, I went to the book depo and purchased The Scarlett Letter, Heart of Darkness, and Little Women.  I'm sure I've read the last book before, but I recall really enjoying it so... adding it to my collection! At ~$3 a pop, it doesn't add up to much at all. I also added A Walk to Remember in my cart because A) apparently it's well written and B) because I loved the movie.

Considering purchasing a Lonely Planet guide to the US, but I think I might check that out at the library first. Ideally, I would like to purchase a guide for each city I'm visiting, but I don't think that's very cost effective.
WHT:
Cleaned my room THOROUGHLY (pre-exam time ritual) moved out EVERYTHING, flipped and smacked the mattress, washed all my non-washed clothes (you know that pile of unclean - can't say dirty- clothes that you just haven't washed because you want to wear it again? Yeah, that pile), vaccumed, steamed, wiped, tossed out a pile of crap, and wow my room feels livable again.

Also got a chance to study solidly for a 5 hours, which is always good, but I feel pooped out now. Ten more days until my first exam. Eighteen more until my last.

Use your time productively! I may not be posting regularly over the next few days (maybe a few pictures).

Adios Amigos/Amigas.

CANTINA MOBIL

Err, can I say YUM?!

So apparently this van makes rounds to usyd every week on wed- bar holidays.

I was abandoned by A, but joined by a seagull in Victoria Park when I ate this lovely chicken burrito. From a VAN.

How smug do I look?

Special shout out to Jos! Thanks for letting me know about the van and sorry for rubbing it in. IT WAS GREAT :D

Delicious procrastination

I decided to hop off Facebook to get started on my mgmt essay due tomorrow. Got off the comp and my legs took me to the kitchen and I made myself an early dinner.

Do Chinese people cook with turkey? I'm glad I do. It's like a beautiful cross between chicken and pork.

Today I cooked everything separately (soup base for noodles, turkey, veges, and most importantly the special sauce in top) just to waste more time.

Yum.

Mmm... Mmmmmmmmm

An old mp3

Today, K and I found our old mp3 lying around. We scrolled through a few songs and came to this one.  When the song started playing, our eyes lit up and we were possessed...

... by the people we were many years ago.

We full broke into crazy shuffling yelling out the lyrics (I can't believe I still remember it)

Ahahaha. It's so spastic. Pretty much got a stitch after the second verse, but I didn't care. Feeling young is greaaaaat!

intellect and believing in fate

Bumped into a friend on the bus today. I didn't realise at first because I had my earphones plugged in and I was listening to a talk about optimism bias.  Anyway, K was full surprised that I was listening to a TED speech. I don't just read blogs and gossip columns ahaha. I am also into politics (to a certain degree) and other intellectual stuff too!  Hahaha, just because my earphones are plugged in, it doesn't mean I'm bopping to JB's Boyfriend. I could just nodding furiously in agreement with someone's really inspiring speech, or shaking my head to something Mitt Romney says (geez that guy really infuriates me).

Felt like sharing that because the same thing has been said to me 3 times already today by different people.  I thought I looked intellectual. Ahaha, I mean, with the glasses and everything. But I guess I wasn't really fooling anyone. Yeah, so just to clarify, like Shrek, I'm like an onion with many layers. I have different layers to face different people. I am not just superficial (yeah, someone told me I was and I just got really cross. How rude, K!) or goofy or food obsessed.

The truth is, I don't like talking about politics to people who have strong opinions like myself. Different people have different views and I find it harder to like someone who has different political views to me. I need to learn to separate things, and assess things by themselves, but my bias will always be there. So I'd rather not talk about politics with friends or randoms. At home, we have really heated debates about world peace, war and politics (and other things like Bride Wannabes, K's future, what time I should go to bed, etc).  So yeah, many thanks to M&D for bringing me up like this, and also JL who was such a good mentor and friend (and many thanks for introing me to TED all those years ago).

Anyway, onto the real topic I wanted to talk about today (all that text above is just an FYI because I've never had so many people question my intellect in one day. Haha, they weren't sceptical, just surprised).  Do you believe in fate?  Nowadays, I find myself thinking more and more about predetermined situations/results.

Maybe I was just really aware of my surroundings today, but there were 3 very distinctive people from a particular point in my past that I saw today.  I thought 'Is this a sign? Am I supposed to do something about this?'

And to add to that, I keep crossing paths with X (not an initial) recently, and there have been some eerie coincidences with this person as well. Every night I come home and before I fall asleep I think about this.  Every night, I end up thinking "WTF! THIS IS SO WEIRD! Am I supposed to be doing something about this? Why is this happening?!"

And THEN this makes me think about religion, and my attitude towards my faith. This will not turn into a religious talk (don't worry ahaha), as religion is something I keep to myself and don't feel comfortable talking about at all. But yes. Currently, even though life is great, my mind is often cluttered with many, many question marks.

Wouldn't it be nice if there were answers for everything?

(how dry is this post, huh?)
