Hiatus

Got bitten by something on Friday night and it's kept me mostly in bed this weekend. It's swollen and hurts like a bitch especially when I pull a face (pretty much always).

Luckily it's gone down. Should have seen a doc, but the thought of getting out of bed was too undesirable. Anypoos, hope you all had a nice weekend :)

08 - A moment

It was dim and all I could hear was the train rattling down the tracked and someone turing the page of newspaper behind me.

The lights flickered and went out.

And stayed out.

The smell. The stench of overnight urine filled my nostrils as soon as I boarded the carriage.

Ahh the Bankstown line.

We have the same trains on the Northern Line (and some new ones too), but I think our trains are in a much better condition.

***

Currently doing some research on Raw denim jeans. Anyone had any experience with Dr Denim? They seem.. affordable (as opposed to Nudies). The book is pretty funny.

Anyway, my assignments are all done so I'm good to concentrate on other things like what movie I'm gonna see tomorrow - and how many steps I'll be taking tomorrow. Currently on 15359 :D

Day 7 - Your Best Friend

My Best Friend is my BEST friend.

Best at everything. Always has been, always will be. *suck up*

Caring, motherly (I know she hates it :P), always has something interesting to say, will always listen to my crap, someone I will take to brunch :D  Yes. I plan on sharing all those living social food vouchers with her. Simply because she is one of my favouritest people in the world.

Some of you guys might remember... at one of camps we went to during hs:

OK. Shoddy post today. But I have a legit excuse.

IT RECONCILES, IT RECONCILES OH MY GOSH MY BANK RECONCILIATION WORKED OUT SO WELL. I love MYOB :D

Would take a photo of my ecstatic face, but it's not very pleasant today. Skipped uni tonight because I had the worst headache. Came home, had a hot shower, ate, and popped 2 pills. Thirty minutes later, I'm as good as new, but my face still looks pasty and green. My eyebags are crazy, and I've been pulling all-nighters every Thursday for the past few weeks.

Tonight will not be one of them. :D I am so glad. SO SO glad.

ANYWAY, hope you all have a lovely Friday + weekend  =)

06 - Your day

Day began great.

Day began with Skype.

Then went to bed and woke up at 6.30 to get ready for work.

On the way to work, F and I stopped by Maccas and had our routine Rosti Roll breakfast run (the only highlight of working in Bankstown) and chatted about work while battling through traffic (caused by bloody school zones).

Got to work, and bulldozed through a whole pile of work. The great thing about high turnover is how fast it is to progress to the next level.  I'm no longer doing things I used to when I first started. I've progressed up a level with more challenging work. I also get to coach other people and I find that this is what I enjoy the most.

Instructing others to do stuff for me.

Just kidding. I feel really accomplished at the end when my protoge has done a good job.

I think I would be just as good a teacher as I am an auditor.

Lunch was le boringe.

My days are long on this job. And I don't really get much of a break, but at least the material I get through is substantial and fresh (and a bit exciting).

After work, F and I have a bit of a banter about office politics in the car, and settle into more serious work chat.  I'm really thankful I'm working with such a pleasant team this week. Bummed that tomorrow is my last day, and I know next week is going to be a shocker.

On a lighter note, I purchased a few food vouchers from livingsocial (getting the app on my iphone isn't really too good for my wallet).  In the near future, you will be seeing posts about:
  1. Aquabar Cafe (Bondi)
  2. Armeros Eatery Italian Cuisine (Hornsby)
  3. Churrasco - Rio Braziliam BBQ Restaurant (Parra); for a third of the year, I'm working at Woolloomooloo/Darlinghurst, and I have to walk past the Churrasco in Darlinghurst EVERY DAY. So psyched!
  4. The Vault Hotel - (Syd CBD); This one I've held onto for quite a while.  It's a breakfast voucher for two and I'm looking forward to a hearty western brunch one day :D Too bad it's only open on weekdays and I have work/uni :(
I'm excited. :D

05 - Your definition of love

Er. Unconditional, undeniable and Unnnn... unnn I don't know.

Ask me in 10 years time.

I might know the answer then.

In the meanwhile, don't you hate knowing that there is a BAD BAD BAD photo (or photoS) of you lurking on the internet somewhere. Ugh. I can't bear to stay on a website for a minute. Once I see my face I jsut shut the browser. EUGH. EUGH. EUGH.

Anyway, goodnight all. I have so many things to do tonight :(

04 - What you ate today

Yay. A good topic today. I can supplement this post with photos!

Today I left home after having a cup of soy milk.  Then in the car, colleague and I took a detour to Maccas, and we both had a Rosti wrap :)

For lunch, I warmed a can of chunky soup (peppered steak today - D: too peppery) and a few slices of toasted bread.

I took this photo last week, but I pretty much have the same thing every day.  Toast, soup, coffee and work.

M made dinner and it was chicken, and something else, I forgot.

Last Friday (even though I got paid), friends and I decided to pretend to be strapped for cash.  We went to IGA and bought cup noodles, and using the new facilities at uni, we made possibly the most satisfying lunch I've had all semester!

The claypot ramyeon (is this how I should spell it?) is thinner than usual because you can't cook it properly.  As such, it is not as springy and it's texture is not quite the same as the one that come in the individual stove cook packs.  I had the Nissin cup noodles in XO sauce flavour.  For the longest time, I didn't have the faintest idea what XO sauce is made of.  I know now. It's seafood sauce - and a lot of MSG. But so good.  (My chef cousin-in-law makes the best xo sauce everrrrrrr. I will learn one day. I will!)

Korean - chicken and egg with sweet potato noodles with rice.

Seafood noodles. I can't remember what else was in this :/

Ajisen Ramen @ World Square : Miso Ramen.

Chashu Ramen.

The chashu was nice. The thing I don't like about Ajisen ramen is the ramen. Ahaha. It feels like pasta. Like thick angel hair pasta.  Ramen should be bouncy when you bite on it and not break off too easily! The soup is kinda salty, but I like condensed flavour.

Meetfresh! I have used up my third stamp collecting card.  The lady at the counter recognises me/ remembers my order I think.  I always get HERBAL JELLY No. 4! Bottom left.  I love grass jelly. The herbal properties are super (though I think it's really dilute here, and I  bet they don't give you the best stuff) healthy and good for your skin. Tastes nice too, luckily.  Came here with a non-asian friend once to eat "black stuff". It was definitely a waste of time because he pretty much left his bowl untouched. Apparently "black stuff" is inedible. ahahaha

Visited Ajisen again last night with M&D. I usually take them out after payday and D felt like ramen so I thought they might like to give Ajisen Ramen a go.  Ajisen is a worldwide franchise, and we ate from this place in Hong Kong and Shanghai.  Both were disappointed by the food, but it wasn't that bad.

Soft shelled crap fried so terribly. I don't know how to fry soft shelled crab, but I know other places make it look so much nicer and more appetising. :/

Special Tonkotsu Ramen (I think :/)

Chashu Ramen.  I like trying new things, but once I find something I like, I find it hard to order something else.

Gyoza. Looked. So. Gross. It had pan crap stuck to the bottom of the gyoza. :( My dumplings never look like that when I eat a Ichiban Boshi :(

And lemon tea, which costs an extra $1.80 if you're getting a ramen.

Prices are pretty similar to Ichiban Boshi, and in future I'd definitely leg it to the Galeries Victoria for that bowl of HQ noodles. The trek is worth it. OR I'll just visit Meppan Menya :)

For dessert last night, we went back to the little Taiwanese store in the Dixon Street fobby shopping "centre".

It looks so gross, but I promise you, it's nothing but utter goodness.

TW sausage in glutinous rice sausage.  There's a bit of um, preserved pickle relish along the middle. FANTASMO.

And I also got the tofu dessert again.

I can't say their tofu is very smooth, but I don't get the tofu dessert to eat the tofu. My favourite part is the brown sugar jelly.  They're the brown cubes along the bottom of the ^ photo. Soft and squishy in texture, but so smooth and not too sweet (surprisingly!).  I got that topping with taro and grass jelly. :)

The owner threw in extra sweet potato & glutinous rice balls into my mum's bowl :( They're so nice! The texture is less chewy, and softer than the glutinous balls at Meetfresh)

On the way back to the car, I found PEPPER LUNCH. Next to Wagaya (opposite Maccas Ent. Centre).  ANOTHER ONE?!  It's gonna be full of students during the week.  Pepper lunch is so overrated. But I will probably give it a go because it's so close to uni ;D

Friday night I went out for a uni event. Such a flop.  Met up with L & T beforehand to walk down together.

L, guzzling down her bailies shot at V bar.  They have $4 shots during happy hour - but warning, depending on which bartender you get, your drink may be super diluted!  Not that I can really judge.  Didn't get any because a) I am a cheapass, b) selection is small, c) I have bailies at home and d) it's only fun with LOTS of people.  Was nice to catch up with you guys again :)  Haven't seen you in yonks.

Random photos I also found on my phone.

Helena's birthday cake from 85 degrees.  Was uber nice :)

And I don't believe I've blogged about my visit to Cafe Pacifico? I have so many overdue posts :|  need to find some time to sort through my photos.  They're everywhere. :*(  Basically, a few weekends ago, a group of us headed to Darlinghurst, (pretty much opposite my most beloved client W3$TF13LD) to dine in a super lively Mexican restaurant. It was a really interesting experience, and reminded me of why I love trying new stuff :D

Speaking of trying new stuff, drove to birkenhead point (no I haven't got my P's yet. I know. I should :( ) and tried on a pair of chucks at Timberland (yes, Timberland. haha).  ALL the shoes they had there from Converse were in my size. I was so tempted to get 3 pairs. Only $30 each!  However the accountant inside me took over the inner fob and I decided against the hot pink, and starry pair :P  (More like my dad was giving me the dissaproving frown when I picked up those pairs !)

And shoes. Brings me back to the day I was walking around in the city.  Noticed this.

People rolling up their pants. Even though it's freezing cold at night. Even though your pants probably fit at the right length.  And it's becoming trendy. Hipsters/fobs do it.  Oh man. Fobs do so many things which offend me. Main one would be wearing denim shorts + ugg boots.  Makes no sense...

/ End whinging

M loved this. ;D

Is anyone, by anychance going to see Hotcha this Saturday?  I'm bursting at the seams with excitement, but I don't seem to know many people who know who they are.

I'm not a HUGE fan. I just like them. :)  I love Charmaine Fong though.  Her new image is kinda punk/jazzy. A nice twist. She reminds me of Ingrid Michaelson or Meiko / Norah Jones even.

Anyway, enough from me tonight. I feel like I've blabbed on for ages.

Hope you all had a lovely Monday and rest of week to come!

03 - Your parents

Parents.

The only people who will love you for who you really are.

The people I sometimes take for granted.

Forever indebted to them.

Twenty years. Twenty years of putting up with me, I've seen what it's done to them.

My dad used to hold my hand when we crossed the road.  The back of his hand was smooth and you could see his darker veins and muscles.  The other day he was reading a paper and I saw his hand - it's changed so much!  More tanned, more scarring (from the gardening no doubt!) and many more fine wrinkle lines.  And mum, every so often I help her dye her hair to hide the greys, and it surprises me each time, how rapid these greys come to light. There seem to be more each time.

Argh. What time does to us. It's depressing.  It makes me think that one day they won't be here anymore.

To delay their departure, I have banned both from buying timtams and replaced the full cream carton with shape milk.  No more white bread, instead, multi grain bread and exercise are on the new menu!

It's selfish, I know, but who knew that multi grain bread could taste so good?!

02 - Your first love

He was called Dave.

Mr Mysterious.

I don't know who he is, or more like, I can't remember who he is.

Probably because I met him when I was like.. three?

This is a longstanding joke between a few family friends. No one can remember which family friend Dave belonged to, and I ceebs facebook stalking with such little info.

01 - Introduce Yourself

Like my homemade taro sago dessert? It's my lovechild. My lover's child. Procrastination is my love. If there was a (food) court, the judge would send me to jail for murder. I attacked this bad boi like a savage!
It may not look like much, but man, the best things in life are the simple ones which bring pleasure :)

Ok game time.

Hi, I'm Belle.
Still a teen, still living at home and still scabbing lifts off my parents / battling through Sydney on public transport.

Work full time and study full time, and volunteer stalk on facebook full time.

Sometimes life is so great, sometimes it's just plain shit, but at least it's never boring.

I enjoy trying new things and haven't really developed a taste for fine foods and red wine despite trying hard to.

I dress comfy, and when I don't,  I look odd.

I have been visually impaired for most of my life and I think my hearing is deteriorating also.

I'm also becoming increasingly addicted to coffee, my iPhone and learning formulae and short cuts on excel.
I believe one of my only skills is data manipulation.

Yes, I am an accountant-to-be. I have grown accustomed to cheap champagne and served with witty audit jokes or whingey comments. I am a professional. Hahaha.

And today I finally turned the heater on in my room. Mark the calendars!! Today's the day the electricity bill starts going up!!!

Damn you legion cabs

Your telephone staff are horrible.

"wheyagoin"

Sorry?

"I said wheyagoin!!"

Bankstown station

"whesat"

... Bankstown?

Then the cab never came.

get ready ! 30 day challenge

These 30 day challenges are viral on tumblr. Let's see how far I get before I quit :)

PS, received my philly cookbook in the mail yesterday. I was pretty much dribbling over the pages.  I know that I probably won't get my finished goods to look like the finished product they had in the pictures, and I know I won't use every single recipe (really gotta stay in shape - esp through the winter!! haha) but I love it to bits.  I have something to do during the holidays now (apart from work my butt off).  Will give it a go and let you know how it goes :D

Stuck at Bankstown Airport for work this week - but I'll be at UNSW tomorrow night for MED REVUE! Pumped. If you're also there tomorrow night let me knowwww. I need some human contact!

Tonight I really need to get my eco assignment knocked over (and I'm really devo about the fact I'm missing the budget tonight). Thank goodness we're in a technological era and downloading is possible. Will def catch up with the tv on the weekend!

Thursday night = uni

Friday night = uni

Friday late night = uni partay. harhar.

It will be an ok week hopefully. It's improved drastically from last week, so I think I've moved on from being a permanent moody bitch to a slightly temperamental one.

Hope you all have a lovely week !

the best part about winter is I get to wear my coats!

When will luck be on my side?

This has got to be the worst week of work ever.

I feel so dyslexic. Fml.

<insert rage about cityrail trains leaving the platform before the timetable says. I missed three darn trains within 2 minutes. What is wrong with the timetabling people. A train with similar destinations, leaving at approximately the same time on bloody different platforms?! What the FARK cityrail, what the FARK>

I hate depressing posts, but I need to vent here because I have no time to see my friends, and when I do, I'd much rather hear about them then rant about my retarded life. I believe I am suffering from post holidays syndrome. :(

This so makes up for all those raffles I never won. Thanks ChocolateSuze!

Hope you all have a lovely week back at uni/work :)

Osama's dead

Hi all,

Lunchbreakpost! Osama's dead, and apparently the Americans are celebrating.

No point really, is there? I mean, there are probably hundreds of people inline after him. Stupid.
