happy end of financial year!

GOODBYE FY 10, HELLO FY11! This year will be full of work, uni and hopefully a payrise!

Today, the weather in Manildra was bearable. I found it strange that it's significantly colder (2 degrees) in Orange, which is just an hours drive away.  That's right. I'm living an hour away from where I'm working because the town in which I am working in, is too small and no hotel/motel/anyother store except 1 tuckshop exists on the mainroad, or any road in that town.

I'm not sure if that's the right syntax, but I am beyond caring right now.

Tomorrow will be a long day and I will NOT be looking forward to it.

WHT:
Got up, ate breakfast in my room (opted not to go to buffet- regretted that decision), spilt water on myself. I dried myself using the hair dryer but it made me late to the car where S and J were waiting so :/ oops.  But I'm glad I got that dry because you have no idea how easily things turn into ice out here in the country.

The grass starts frosting over at 9pm and when you walk on sections of lawn you can feel the crushing of ice beneath your feet.

I must admit, I am enjoying this country experience. In Manildra, everyone knows each other and is really super friendly to people who aren't local (i.e. ME!).  On several occassions there'd be people walking past me on the street when I cross the road- they all say hi, g'day, how're ya mate, and all those equivalent. It's so different from Sydney.

Dumdidum, after getting most of my work done (which means being annoying and pestering AP/ AR staff to get lots of paperwork), I was sent back to Orange (45 min drive) to count pallets of stock in a warehouse.  After 30 mins in Orange, I had finished counting, and then I was sent back to Manildra.

When I got back into the office I said hi to S and J, and they promptly began packing up when I started to set up my laptop.

lol.

[[Urban outfitters having massive sale- $10 for an item of clothing- What the eff I just looked at it again and there is cheaper stuff than that. omg buying tights online is so much cheaper than buying from Woolies ]]

We had dinner at a woodfire pizza restaurant, but funnily enough, no one ordered a pizza.  There was a seafood marinara, a fettucine bolognaise and ... a ca... ca-something. Will look it up later when I blog about Orange properly next time.

I think Orange is a good place to go for a short trip or holiday. It's really nice.  Would be a better experience if you came during spring. :)

But yes. Tomorrow. 7am start at work which means I have to get up 5.30. Excellent. Within 6 hours from now D:

O to the RANGE

mid sentence "frii-(ck why won't this work)"
ha. comp froze and webcam went funny..

So I got up really early this morning (after falling asleep at 4 ish). Ate, got ready, heard my colleague's car pull up and then DISCOVERED MY MUM'S CAR HAD FRICKING BEEN BROKEN INTO.

To the person who broke into our 1994 camry- fahk you to hell.  Obviously someone who drives a 1994 camry will NOT have anything valuable inside. What. The. Faaaaaaaarrrrk.  The worst thing is, I saw our front light go on, but I thought it was the wind. OMG if I ever see the front yard sensor light go off again and I find ANY person outside, I WILL FRICKING SKIN YOU ALIVE BITCH!  Insurance doesn't bloody cover this, and we have to fork out money for this. If you were to steal something, TAKE THE WHOLE CAR you retard. I hate picking up other people's mess. >:(

(interruption: on tv, and aussie reporter just said "obviously we'll be supporting our fellow asian team- go JAPAN!)

But yeah. If you're going to commit some sort of crime, like other tasks, follow it through.  Steal the whole car.

Mawson, BEWARE we have a fricking thief prowling our street.

I am thousands of kilometres away right now, but the feeling of paranoia won't go away.

Ahhh waking up to this totally ruined my mood.  Anyway- just for reporting purposes and to remind myself to blog later, I went to a restaurant for dinner today. Harrison's, Orange. Ordered a scotch fillet steak and a pannacotta desert. More info will come later. The dinner was very disappointing and I do not want to be sued for defamation of any sort by saying something harsh. Plus i am not thinking straight in this 27 degree room.  HAHA thank goodness for aircon

Family and MORE family! ft Neighbour's laundry

Before I begin blabbering on about my family, I'd like to wish you all happy holidays and enjoy it while you can. Yes. In 3 years time (or 5 for science folk and 7 for med kids) you will only be allowed to take 4 weeks of leave per year.  Then, you will learn to treasure your weekends and long awaited long weekends.

So last friday, I finally kicked Blethics in the butt and finished my last exam

Hurhurhurr Goodbye Stack-of-Acts

Because there are way too many computers and distracting devices in my room, I always opt to study in the dining room. It's always bright enough there during the day. Special thanks to my neighbour's white fiber side-roofy thing. And yes, if I leapt over the fence and crawled into that tiny window, I would end up in Mawson's laundry.  So those of you who keep saying that it's possible for us to stalk each other... well it IS possible, but it's made really difficult thanks to this loquat tree, the size of his window, the particular room the window is of, and of course, the good ol' fence.

FRIDAY AFTERNOON
Gosh, after our exam at the racetrack, Bosco and I and his friend Antonio decided to walk towards usyd to meet up with the usyd science folk.  I kept calling people, but their phones were OFF!  In the end, we get a call and everyone is in the fugly tower building waiting for us ! D:

We met up, and went to Mamak! But there are no photos, for we were too hungry on the day.  Plus I am not Malaysian, and do not have a good enough memory to recount what we had for lunch that day. Mee goreng, nasi something, lemak something roti... more roti, some curry, some peanut-y stuff I gave to Topher LOL! I SWEAR I HAD NO IDEA THAT WAS PEANUT SAUCE. I AM SO SORRY! (beeteedubbs- he's allergic !)

After lunch, we split up, and sim, Sam, Sarah, Alan and I ventured into Chinatown in search of the Emperor's egg tarts & puffs! No photos of that either.  Alan leave, and Michael joins us and we merrily head to Myer to do some shopping and then Woolworths because they are the freshfood people.  Overload on goodies and then we split up again.

Everyone heads home while Sam and I wander around the city waiting to see Cat.  We see her, and then we take the train home.

That evening my bus came on time, and I arrived home earlier than I anticipated, because I was the only one home!  Prepared dinner and found flowers on the table.

Happy Birthday K!

We celebrated and watched a team lose. The end.

Then Saturday... I don't remember what happened on Saturday. waaahh?

Sunday.

Hello Rhyanna

So we visited my cousin G today because it was baby Rhyanna's "full month" celebration!!

My little nieces/nephews are so much bigger now!! :D :D And so much noisier

Laura and Joshy!

M, L, B, K, J, V and M!

My cousins always inspire me to be a better person, a better daughter and a better sister. I wish they lived closer to us :(  But I've always found it kinda weird that they started having kids at the same time.. :/

Haha, hope you all had a nice weekend!

P.S. Did anyone want to murder that Italian referee in the Aus v Ghana match?  That tackle from behind should have been a red!

P.P.S.  Because Bosco had no money on Friday and Usyd people were waiting for us, I didn't get a chance to go to the fish markets. I was bitterly disappointed (not really), but all is fine again, because G's hubby, super chef C, cooked us a freaking huge seafood feast. I am feeling really bloated and disgusting right now because I probably ate too much and will not be bothered to go for a run.

P.P.P.S. Fml. Full time work resumes in less than 12 hours.

sleep deprived

When I am sleep deprived, I turn into THE biggest bitch ever.

Last night, I decided to give the world cup a miss because of my exam tomorrow.  At 2am, my mum walks into the living room and turns the tv on to start watching E.U. on volume 14 =_=; I normally keep the tv at 13 during the day and 4 at night...

I somehow fall asleep in the raquet, and I wake up again at 6 and she is still watching it :(

I feel so unbelievably tired. I think I'll move back into my room. Ceebz last night because it was too cold to move.

>:(

This morning, I made myself a porridge and I sent her out the door (not really, she's going yumcha with friends). SHE KEPT SINGING IN THE SHOWER and I just really wanted to die right there in my Blethics textbook.

Kill me now.

In less than 24 hours I will have to drag myself out of bed, hurl myself into the car, try to study on the train and begin the long trek to stupid Wentworth Park. Perhaps afterwards I should treat myself to oysters at the fish market :O

Feeling better already. Will tell you how that goes!

PS, I did start watching the Chile v Honduras game (1-0)- but to be honest, I found it to be quite boring...

1-0
I also watched a bit of the Switzerland v Spain game but I was too tired by then...

Argentina v Korea tonight!

lacking quality sleep, losing common sense

Hi Everyone!

Hope you've all been studying hard for exams or watching the world cup!  I've been staying up everyday, trying to watch all the games (it's so hard ;( I remember being better at staying up 4 years ago).

Cote d'ivoire v Portugal last night, nil all.

Go Portugal! Go Deco!

Wish I had been 100% alert last night because right now I can't exactly recall why Ronaldo got a yellow card. All I remember is thinking about how old Deco was and he's probably not going to play in the next world cup. He's either slowing down or everyone else is just getting faster now :(
Another thing I couldn't stop thinking about was the height of the players. FREAKING HELL they're damn tall. And wow, it must have hurt to fall from such a height. Every few seconds someone would fall over, flat on their face. Kind of amusing, but yeah, ouch.

After this game on SBS, the North Korea v Brazil match was on. I really can't recall North Korea playing in the past, but I have to say I was sort of impressed because I didn't exactly have high expectations of them at all.  Their GK reminds me of Don. Bahahaha! Seriously. Actually when you zoom in on photos there is no resemblance at all.  But here, #1 looks like Don right?

I am impressed.

I also watched the England/US match replay and I have to say, this tie is probably an embarassment to England.  The US are probably rejoicing.

Ghana game on Friday night, after my last exam. My plan for that day is to do my exam, finish my exam, eat with whoever, buy lots of korean snacks on my way home and just camp out infront of the tv for the rest of the world cup.

I have been sleeping in the living room for a week now. Haha it's such a mess right now. Humdiho!

Good luck!

PS. Bosco, if you're reading this what does FILS stand for again? Facts Issues Legistation and SSSS What does S stand for D:

Blast from the past- Shanghai

Hello and welcome to another chapter of my life.

I am online and wasting time because I really, really do  not want to know anymore about tort, or torts committed by infants, or contracts. BLAH So sick of studying.  So I resorted to spring cleaning (despite the fact it is indeed winter right now). AND GUESS WHAT I FOUND?!

An old photo album!

My cousin E, M, and I (And the thing in the bg is my textbook!)
E is approx 5 months younger than me, but she's always been bigger? And skinnier, and whiter than me. Haha.  She lives in the US now and is as fob/trendy as ever. Hahaha!

stolen from facebook. muahaha

My giant family in Shanghai. Geez Louise. SO tall.

Gramps!

hmm what should i name this stance..

Currently waiting for Tom Sawyer to come in the mail.  I get so excited whenever I heard the mail man drive by the house that I always almost press my face against my window which looks like this.

WHY. IT IS LUNCH TIME AND STUPID WATER DROPLETS HAVE NOT DISAPPEARED!

Japan v Cameroon was an interesting game :D 1-0

4-0

Hi guys! It's taken some time for me to recover after the game.  These days, instead of studying hard for my b/law exams, I've been camping infront of the television treating myself with recent tvb dramas and ofc some soccer on sbs.

I have to say, I had NO confidence whatsoever about this morning's game. But that doesn't mean I didnt support the socceroos :D  Funny thing was, I stayed up to watch the game, but as soon as they finished singing the national anthem, I must have fallen asleep because I remember, what felt like seconds later, it was already half time. I guess I didn't miss much.  Ahh Guus, why did you leaaaaveee...

OK! Digressing. Let's talk facebook. Let's talk about going through pictures of year 8s from high school who add you on facebook, who you've NEVER heard of, let alone befriended.  Do they just add anybody?!  The was one thing that struck me odd. They wear leather jackets?! WHAT!

Yes. Sounds petty. But it really bugs me. Someone in year 8 has probably not even hit puberty (asian kids) yet! Within a year or two it WON'T FIT ANYMORE!

D '= <

In the future, I bet 100% I'll be one of those mothers who make their kids wear school jumpers and blazers which are at least two sizes larger.

I went through that. It's only natural I pass it on.

Ahahaha!

In response to my last post, some of you guys pointed out I should go to Ashfield for some food. Why don't you take me there? :)

Netherlands v Denmark tonight :) Can't wait. Japan v Cameroon, and Italy v Paraguay!

Anyway. Have fun studying for exams everyone! and a BIG CONGRATS TO CHRIS AU! An extremely talented pianist. When can I hear you play again :P

2-0

It was a fun game to watch last night. Fast paced :D Really looking forward to the South Korea v Argentina game.

Yesterday was pretty good, I think. I was a bit buggered by one question which asked me to draw up a cash budget. I had skipped my tute that week and didn't do my homework. :| And obviously I didn't study that chapter, but oh well. I made something up and it looked kinda.. alright.  After that, I had lunch at Kura. Seafood Yakiudon, Beef Udon, Karaage Udon, Salmon + avocado california, and soft shelled california! Yummo.

After lunch, bludged around the city for a bit, and then we had dinner at Din Tai Fung. I regret not bringing my camera- but I guess the food didn't look particularly interesting.  We got 2 tiers of the xiao long baos (dragon buns?), a fried pork noodle, beef noodles, a mango pudding and black sesame icecream for dessert. Oh, and they charge for tea. The bill ended up to be just under $70. The service was good, staff were really friendly and helpful, however the prices are really pricey.  The portions weren't entirely great either. :/  At least the dumplings were good?  Just to sum it up, Din Tai Fung is not a place I'd go to for dinner. Perhaps supper. But definitely not dinner.

I wish I did take some photos, because it's going to be a while before I go to  Din Tai Fung again. My wallet needs some time to recover. lol.  I can't wait until my last exam is over so I can start reading Huck Finn :D

Enjoy your long weekend!

PS. I currently have zero plans for next weekend. Any ideas? Or is something important on that I've forgotten?

inbox shock

Due to the fact that I am at work basically ALL the time, I rarely check my personal email anymore.  Even if I do, I just skim through the titles, delete the junk and leave the rest to "read later".  On days when I procrastinate and put off studying, I scroll through all my unread mail and today, I came across this.

What the hell. I have spent that much within the last year? You must be kidding me. I haven't been seriously keeping track of any point accumulating schemes (Priceline, Qantas FF/Woolies, Flybuys, Easyway). But yes, it acted as a wake up call and I will now avoid going to Myer.

Still on the topic of retail, has anyone walked into World Square recently and noticed the disappearance of stores like PaperScissors and the sudden birth of classy stores like Cue, Marcs, CK... Working in the middle of the shopping centre doesn't really curb my spending nature. Which is why I'm glad my job makes me go to places like Villawood or Auburn or Homebush all the time.  There is nothing there and I save an incredible amount of money. Wheeeee.

Digressing, my sister just showed me a youtube clip called "striptease FAIL" which features a guy with soiled undies. It was quite amusing for a bit, but then the more I thought about it, the more disgust I feel.  Who would continue wearing something once it has been defaced by faeces. Seriously. He hasn't at all grasped the concept of personal hygiene. Dude, it's called wiping.

Dootdidoot I swear I had more to say than just spending money and poo.  I also have management accounting on my mind, but there's not really that much I want to say about it.  It is one of my strong point though, I think, because everyday work is just scrutinising a company's management to see what they've done to improve the business, etc.

Since I was sick today, I skipped uni (one tute) and a visit to charlie lovett. Instead I spent part of my day sitting in Dr Diu's office contracting weird germs from a spluttering kid next to me.  Then M & I went to C.Court to wait for K after school. School. That sounds so foreign and strange now. The notion that school kids finish school at 2.30 really shock me now.  Sometimes when I'm having a busy day at the clients' I haven't even had lunch yet!

Ok. I am pissed off. After spending about 20 mins browsing the book depository and putting a short story, a novel and a manga in my basket, I have found out that I freaking need a credit card for payment. IS PAY PAL NOT GOOD ENOUGH?!  Le riske is too big, I think, to use my amex because I do not want the accounts payable people to see that I have been buying fairytale books. :) I need to start thinking about getting a personal credit card. T_T;  My dad just walked in and said the same thing. HAHA Perhaps I will get one.

Yes.

I'm currently scaring the crap out of myself by reading THIS. The movie, Changeling (2008) with Jolie was based on this. I can't believe the town changed it's name after the murders were discovered. I thought it would have brought tourism and such. I mean, look at the concentration camps- tourist attractions :/  people are kinda weird.  Damnit. Why is this creepy stuff always such a good read!?!

Changing topics now.. I purchased a Hello Kitty mouse on Ebay. HAHA! I don't even particularly like Hello Kitty, but I guess anything is better than my boring black microsoft mouse from work. :/  One day I will bring it to work and see how much interest, or how many looks I get :D

I have added Lolita and Huck Finn to my bookshelf and I look forward to reading both after exams.  Originally I had no idea what the heck Lolita was about. The blurb didn't make it sound enticing at all- however I've heard it's controversial, and I think I need that in my life. Everyday gets boring when it's just train, work, eat, work, train, eat, sleep.  And Huck Finn? I just love Huck Finn. I read it in primary school after Tom Sawyer :/

Anyway, study awaits. I shall be highlighting my notes with my new highlighter (which is mind blowing by the way. it's like a CRAYON!)

BEST OF LUCCCK! (I know some of you have exams tomorrow!)

omgomgomg

Just to blabber on for a bit. Stuff at the top of my head:

Iphone
OMG IPHONE 4!! WHAT A LOVELY LOOKING THING! I'll feel like a retard if I get it though, because i have an Ipod Touch. As if bring both when going out :/

Nokia e72
Need to buy Nokia e72. It looks sturdy. And kinda cool. I think I like the qwerty keyboard.  Funnily enough, I also thing the qwerty keyboard is a downside. All the keys are so SMALL!

LEAVE!
I'm officially on leave for the rest of this week, and next week! Yay! Well deserved break. Sleep in, study, nice cooked breakfast, maybe even a jog yes, as if I'd really do that. :P

Catchups:
These days, I haven't seen the group (don't know what else to call them- ie the bunch I met up with alot a month or two ago) too often, and I've been seeing Bosco and Lancy quite regularly.

Sandwiches and uni have been keeping me in touch with Borbz - funny story! On Monday, we were at Darling Harbour eating Lawson sandwiches from Ice Cube.  Not far away, there was this kid chucking some bread around attracting the attention of quite a few hungry seagulls. A bit too close for comfort I'd say.  To the point where a seagull tried to snatch Bosco's sandwich from his hands! Hilarious. WHAT A RUDE GULL!

Email correspondence between Lancy and I at work have kept us in touch, and we finally saw each other at uni last week!  My coffee fanatic friend has taken me to to following cafes in 2 days: Charlie Lovett (so good), Starbucks and Max Brenner. It's just so nice to be able to chat for ages sitting in a warm cosy cafe when it's freezing and windy outside. :)  It's even nicer when it's someone who won't get bored of me talking about work random stuff.

EXAMS!
Need to study for those.  Let's have some fun on the 19th/20th June!

DRIVING!
Give me the name and number of a good instructor. I don't want to waste money doing a second driving exam :P

Pet Peeves
I've learnt that I really hate it when people shake their leg when they're sitting down. I figured this out when I was in one of my lectures where the chairs are all connected. Freaking hell. I sat through 1.5 hrs of vibration. SO badly to chop that girl's leg off >:(  Another thing I really hate is retarded people on public transport who sit on the aisle side of the seat when there is no one sitting inside.  Yes, shuffling in the small gap between your leg and the seat infront, wiping my butt or my bag in your face is not the most enjoyable thing in the world. Be nice, stand up and let me in, or just move in. >: (  They should install tvs on trains. And then show videos of "common courtesy in practice".

LIKING
Caramel Mocha, melted chocolate, warm weather, wall stickers, chloe- smells like nice soap, my wireless card, my credit card, my driving logbook (almost complete!), Chambord Lemonade, stockings with criss cross patterns, nice and comfortable shoes, my warm, warm blankets, gloves, MY TRENCH COAT I GOT IN SHANGHAI OMG IT IS THE BEST AT KEEPING ME WARM.

I just took out my coat today, and I wish I started wearing it earlier this week cos it was always freezing in the morning.  Last time I wore it, was when I was in Canberra.

WHICH REMINDS ME I have get to talk about that. I can't even find the photos anymore :/

Last week.. or the week before I bought a cheapo camera on a whim.  I keep forgetting to bring it out with me. I should though.

Anyway. Have a good time studying guys. I always enjoy exam periods :) You all know know by now. Good luck and have fun!

PS. Yesterday I learned there was a station called "Leightonfield". Today I got off there. After a bus ride, and three train trips. The Smith Family is in Villawood.

What a freakin' hole.

mess

my timetable for sem 2 really sucks.

i have to go to uni for THREE days which is just really ridiculous because i'm just taking three subjects, and they happen to fall on three different days.

it's only a problem because i'm not always in the city and it is a serious pain in the ass if i need to head out to the city from say, Auburn just for 2 hours :S

utter frustration!

is it stupid to take economics in my third sem? i'll be the oldest of the bunch, but i really want to fit 2 subjects on one day. and if i take bus stats instead of stupid economics, i have have 2 subjects on wednesday, and 1 on monday.

gaaaaah i wish i thought this out properly in the beginning of the year.

who knew tabasco and tequila would go together

sum my day up:

  • work in the morning
  • king pin bowling- sucked ass
  • laser skirmish- 11% accuracy. wth
  • open bar tab
  • sex and the city 2
Wasn't too great. But I fell asleep midway. :/ so maybe I missed something good.

Miss you guys.
