Gratitude

R09 thank you for the past 6 years. Tomorrow is our last day as year 12s at the school and I'm feeling great :D  I love going to school greeted by friends with injokes and warm morning greetings. I'll be sad that this daily routine of mine will be broken- but hopefully it will be replaced by something even better.

Was going to dedicate this post to my mentorees (loveliest girls) but I'm running out of time and I need to pack for BALMORAL TOMORROW WOOO.

I love you guys this-

Before I fell asleep

Graduation

So we’re finally here at the end of the road. Only two more official days of school left. Are we still year 12s? I don’t think we own the senior common room anymore. I was locked out this morning when I was looking for my cupcakes (yes, I baked again- illegally- my dad wasn’t at home and I was sure to destroy all the evidence before he came home last night).

I planned to wake up at 7.00am this morning- but I slept in an hour and got to school around 8.20am to practice dancing/final assembly stuff. When I woke I was feeling pretty trashed- however I couldn’t have been more alert- I WAS LATE.

When I went to bed 2.5 hours earlier, I made a mental list of what I had to do when I woke.

Get ready for school:

- Leggings

- Blazer

- Vanessa’s photo

- Switch bags~ wallet & keys

- Don’t forget cupcakes

- Steam buns for morning class

I left home with leggings, a blazer, my wallet, keys, cupcakes, but completely forgot Vanessa’s photo and the steam buns. ZZZ but turned out fine cos M was nice and dropped it off at around 10.

Everyone rehearsed until period 4 started. Sometime before then my mentorees Yun, Annie and Vicks found me walking around in my leggings (felt so nekid- like Bryan in his kiddie photo) and gave me a huge bunch of flowers (lilies? I’m not good at identifying anything hehe) – my first ever graduation present. Thank you guys! It was really sweet- and they look divine sitting in the lounge room.

Performances were slightly disjointed today and full of year 12 in jokes- but it was one of the funniest I’ve ever been a part of. Also one of the most… err teary-est ones. Haha. *cough Kris*.

Hugs all round! Got heaps today~ everyone’s dead skin cells just packed onto my skin. Eww Hahaha. Man. I’ll refrain from sounding all sentimental today- overload today.

Everything overload today. Hunting overload (disappearing bag & music device), dancing overload (I simply suck), book signing overload. Holy crap; how many memoir books are circulating out there? Hehe. Sign mine everyone! So I don’t forget you in 10 years time! ==;

zzz I would love to blog more about today, but I keep yawning and losing concentration. I blame FMA- K is watching it on the big screen right now. D: SPEAKING OF BIG SCREEN- we should watch a movie together with our free myopia tickets. What’s a good movie coming out after HSC? OHMAGAD- I ALMOST FERGOT- ALICE IN WONDERLAND COMES OUT AFTER. YESSSS.

Currently looking forward to sleep and beach on Wednesday. HOPEFULLY THE 2nd DUST STORM DOESN’T HIT ON WEDNESDAY. I’m looking forward to a day of sunshine on the shore.

Wheeeee

HAVE A GOOD WEEK EVERYONE :D

Currently: D is badgering me about applying for co-op. I don't want it anymore. D'ARGH!

GOING TO BED

AT FIVE THIRTY AM GUYS.

I HAVE FINALLY FINISHED THE PRESENTATION.

DAMN YOU OBSCURE PEOPLE WHO DON'T HAVE FACEBOOK AND DON'T LIKE PHOTOS.

IT WAS SO HARD.

But many thanks to Gaby- I got it ALL done just when the sun rose :D

Fast Forward

HELLO :)

Lump has gone and I can yell/holler/scream- it feels great.

Hope you all had a nice day- and visited either Cabra (for moon fest stuff) or Darling Harbour (for Malaysian foodz + performances) this weekend.

M+D+K+I went to Darling Harbour after yumcha this morning because I woke up feeling like roti canai. Too bad there was a HUMUNGOUS line for the Mamak stall D: and also outside the actual shop on Goulburn St D:

What happened today?
Woke up super later than planning cos I spent some of my sleeping hours earlier during the day having webcam fun with Topher. He had this HUGE gobstopper and he was just licking one side of it :/ looked really weird.  (@Tdawg: luckily for you, I'll give you your privacy and not post up any horrendous pics of you)

Yumcha-ed for an hour or so (eating with Asian people seems to take quite a while !), before spending about 20 mins loitering within Amcal. I don't know why pharmacies are so interesting. There's just so much to read- and at Amcal they have this stand full of informative brochures about things ranging from diarrhoea to stuff like urinary tract infection to chickenpox, etc. Fascinating stuff. I learnt alot.

Then hopped into the car and headed to DH.  There was this awesome Jap mime (actually, i'm mental blanking atm, if there's no such thing as mime- i mean pantomime dude) and I watched him for a bit. Also watched a bit of the Malaysian cultural performances and yeaah :/ got pretty bored during one performance. Gad it was such an anticlimax.  20 people walked on stage, and I was like- oh yeaaaah finally some cultural dancing.  But they all sat down and clapped for like 5 mins =_=; while one guy just stood up and sang. Heh. So we fled to Harbourside and had a strawberry sundae each. While I was licking away at my spoon, some dude sat down next to me with some food. I could smell the food and damn T_T; it was so good. I felt pretty hungry soon afterwards so I got myself a chicken kebab :)

Falafels look scary. What the HECK are they made of ?! D: Brown and round.. and slightly fuzzy. D: D: D:

Digressing, we headed towards Market City pretty soon after my kebab  because my sister wanted to go shopping =_______=;  I would have liked the split up and walk to CQ with M and stop by Lindt or something at Martin Place. But then I heard LION DANCE MUSIC. Okay- I wouldn't call it music- but it's so entrancing. *_* I love it heaps- so festive and gets me all hyped up.

So I watched for 20 mins- following it around becoming part of it's entourage. Hehe. I always do that. I think the guy almost recognises me. Hehehehehehe.

Then we went into Market City (K complained ALOT when we were part of the dancing lion's entourage) and I tried hunting for a birthday gift for CAT! and WINNIE! but no result.

ho hum continental pasta is nicce :D

Follow up

Apologies.

My last post was a result of my bottled up frustration over the past week. I meant what I said- but I didn't say it to the right person. Those who apologised- take it back; it wasn't your fault. And those who said thanks- you can take that back too.

I volunteered for all this.

Collecting, combining, chasing up.. I just didn't realise we would still have people who "cbb" to do anything, even for our final week of school. =_=; I thought that spending at least 2 years in at this school would make one appreciate the people around; that one would put in a little effort to make everything end nicely and memorable.

I don't care if your photos are late- as long as you send it in, it means a lot to me.

Ahh. I can't sleep the huge lump in my throat hasn't gone away.  This week has been tough for me. The nagging for baby photos part was the easiest. Getting them was the most enjoyable part. The cute baby faces look so innocent I just wanted to build a time machine just to go back in time and nab one of the babies to play with.

Digressing slightly, I never imagined I'd post something so negative during the last week. Sorry if this dampened anyone's moods.  I really hope everyone has a good time this week (how could you  not?!). I really need to grow up and stop venting my anger online XD

Should go before I start sounding even more demented.

Have a nice Sunday everyone!

Standard Drinks - 1.1 approx

EDIT: I FOUND SOMETHING HILARIOUS

/ end edit

Yesterday’s post was well received and I was interested in what everyone had to say. It kind of reminded me of a particular bivouac where some current year 12s and I had this HUGE “what if” game. I decided to initiate the discussion because we were all really bored of walking on the path that seemed to never end.

The questions were like, “If you were a rape victim, and found out you were preggers, what would you do? Abort? Or keep it? (and hate it for the rest of your life”, stuff like that. I found the discussion super intense, and enjoyed having an “intellectual” conversation with good friends.

But I digress. Now is the time to be emotional and reflect on what has been happening during the past few days. We officially have 3 days of school left. On Monday, we will have our final assembly in periods 4&5 I think. On Tuesday, we’ll have our luncheon, and on Wednesday- the long awaited grade visit to Balmoral.

DSLR people such as Jero, Ben, Bosco and James will probably feel a tad unwilling to bring their lovely cameras to the beach- So I WILL DEFINITELY BRING MY CAMERA ON WEDNESDAY- I will charge my batts the night before, bring my SD card on the day, and I’ll purchase some spare AA batts from a convenience store the day before just incase to be fully prepared. I will be the unofficial year 12 camera woman.

Unless I’m the first to dive in and the last to come out, of course.

Forgive me if I sound like a gaylord in this post- I blame this strange behaviour on the side effects of writing in too many people’s “memoir” book. Having to write stuff like “lets try hard to keep in touch” and “I’ll really miss you” and “the past few years has been super duper fun with you around” really does trigger some sort of emotional chain reaction. First I feel aware that I really might not stay in touch with a good friend- not being able to be there to talk things out, make fun and bitch. Then sad, because I then realise how much I’ll be missing out, and a bit remorseful because I should have gotten to know them earlier.

There are many of you I wish I started talking to earlier. I would have had much more fun- I could have so much more fun in the earlier years of high school- but I missed out. I think everyone’s just trying to make up for lost time right now. We’re very LOUD now X) and every now and then you see cameras flash everywhere- people signing books, embracing each other, huddling in groups and posing. D: Seeing all this makes it feel VERY real- and I can’t believe we’ll stop being year 12s on Wednesday.

OHMAGAD!

Ahahaha. So it all begins now. No more school. After the HSC, people will be starting university, working their way towards their career. Today I got a letter from the firm- it was like a wake up call. I start work on February 8th. It doesn’t seem that far away anymore. I don’t know what I’m going to DO in my position. I won’t have a timetable. I won’t be going to class. I’ll be making my own decisions and making decisions on behalf of clients and gad- it’s starting to sound so daunting right now. Suddenly, I feel like someone’s been pressing the ffwd button on the remote but it’s too late now. Time waits for no man.

Moving on, today was a great day. Let’s see..

WHAT HAPPENED TODAY?!

Morning: Learnt single ladies dance. I think we’ve pretty much finished. I have no idea what we are going to wear though. D: Skin tight clothes like leggings make me feel arrrgh. The thought of seeing Phat in a leotard is also quite arrrgh. lol

Eco: Productive-ish. We’re always going through past papers, so I feel more confident answering questions in papers. It’s great. 

Jap: 2nd period was kind of boring. Wait- no it wasn’t. IT WAS HIGHLY ENTERTAINING thanks to Alanine Nogo who visited our class during his free. I took a video of his slap game with Chris Au and well- it was highly entertaining. One day when I have more internet, I will post it onto youtube. At the moment, I feel like I should be more conservative with my internet usage because it’s ages until we get speedy internet.

English: By 3rd period it felt like lunch or recess already. I don’t know why, but English felt like it dragged on for eons.

Recess: I have no idea what happened during recess. Completely forgot.

Double free: Kicked a ball around with some fellow free-ers and also posed lots for flashing cameras belonging to Bosco and Jero. I’m sure a lot of gaytarded photos were taken of me today. This used to bother me a lot- but now I think I enjoy it. It takes a lot less effort to look strange (or “attractive”) than to smile. Plus they look funny and make people laugh- so it’s all good. [John also likes to look strange…  *hi5*]. THEN THE BBQ HAPPENED. YAY. We all just treated it as a huge luvo/photo taking session, and yes. It was great. Ms Jenns made a heart warming mini speech which made me cling onto the person next to me more tightly (WHO WAS IT? Lulu or Sam..) and made me feel the urge to take more photos. haha.

Lunch: The legendary 11 vs 12 soccer game. Which I mostly missed D: I KNOW! Apparently it was really good- but I was too busy chatting to my loveliest mentorees and taking photos with them. Grats to year 12, and to all my year 11 readers (c. yip j.chen) suck on that :) Better luck next year!

Maths: A fun no-work-done/Party lesson where Mr Woo just played guitar with Topher while Yoon sang. Borbor/Thomas/Quentin were playing with Mayer’s Document image thingy (er modern projector. what the hell is it called? I can’t catch up with technology anymore), and there should be pictures of us on the internal memory. lol.

Then for the last free, most of us just crashed the 3u math corridor party. I kidnapped Bosco’s camera for a short while and took happy snaps- The Viet crew, individual faces, Ameya’s face, other faces… you get the idea.

Jazzog (Jazz09) had it’s final rehearsal today. We probably spent more time taking photos then actually singing. I’ve enjoyed spending time with Jazz09- got to know people I wouldn’t have talked to much in school. I don’t think we’re exactly an utterly tight knit group- but I sorta hope we don’t disband- but stay together and sing every now and then.  All those auditioning for school spec- best of luck. I won’t be able to make it (and sort of sick of performing- I’m not really an ideal performer).

Chris Au has a hugeass (&) mouth (double meaning *wiggles eyebrows*)

Currently typing this up on word- my net is gay and isn’t functioning properly the way it should. Hmm. My face is slightly red and I think I look scary. In future I will not purchase alcopops because they are simply not worth it. This lemon flavoured one I have just consumed tasted and looked like solo. If my face hadn’t turned a shade of light pink- well, I would assume that someone tried to rip me off. But I feel ripped off anyway. From now on I’ll purchase solo. 

OHMYGAD what a long post. More than 2 pages on word now D:

PHOTO CREDITS- some to Drew. He was fiddling with my camera when I dumped it for Bosco's sleek dslr. :)

Hope I do something interesting this weekend. Went out to Cabra last weekend for Pho and looking at dresses (I've never winced so much in one day)- NEED TO EXERCISE. Lol. Have a good weekend all!

CHANGING PERSPECTIVES

Finger still hurts- but that won’t stop me from typing. Didn’t end up getting x-ray because dad booked for the weekend (I thought he said “tomorrow” yesterday- but I heard wrong apparently). Damn.

Today, being the genius I am, I forgot to slip my SD card into my camera…again. YEAH- Humdiho. Oh well. Lots of photos were taken today on other cameras because it was MUFTI and prefect luncheon for outgoing prefects. Ladilaah.

Who’s up for a mini-discussion?

5-10 years down the road- you’ve been going out with your significant other half for a few years, don’t feel like getting married, but perhaps moving in together feels appropriate? Would you move in together before you get married? or after?

Back when I was a kid, I’d immediately think “AFTER MARRIAGE OF COURSE!” because that’s what my parents have always said. However, I know a lot of other people who would reject that because it was highly “impractical”. Their argument was that the longer you live with someone, the more you know about them (i.e. annoying habits, conflicting perspectives, moral values, etc) and from that you can decide whether you want to spend the rest of your life with them.

It makes sense when you think about it like that.

From my parents point of view- this is something you should find out/know without having to live with them for a certain amount of time. A girl/woman should be er “untainted” before marriage, and I guess a couple moving in together does suggest err- you know what I mean. I bring this up because recently, I think one of my cousins wanted to go on an overseas trip with her bf but my aunt said “NO DEFINITELY NOT” and gave the above reason.

Dootdidoot.

I’m not saying that moving in together definitely means night time activities will occur (like the movies teach us- they can happen anywhere, anytime) but I guess it seems that way from a third person’s perspective. “You shouldn’t care about what other people think.” Regardless of however many times people say this to me, it will rarely happen. How people perceive you affects how they treat you.

Tell me what you think. I understand the arguments on both sides- valuing different things. My parents view sounds a bit.. materialistic? But it’s something I think I’ll value, while the other view sounds very practical and.. er open I guess.

Speaking of changing attitudes, here’s something funny I noticed on the way to school a couple of days ago. Some junior girls with miniscule skirts walked past the crossing and my dad made a disapproving tsk sound while shaking his head muttering something like “kids these days” under his breath. Hahaha. I think I’m a younger version of my dad. I walk past shops like supre and see some tiny strips of fabric sold as “skirts” and I can’t help but think “you might as well go without”. Ahh conservative for the win. Showing too much skin is not necessary – but I’m finding it becoming accepted by society more nowadays.

Time to compare? I was watching a HK documentary about prostitution and I noticed the clothes that prostitutes wear can easily be found in an Australian girl’s wardrobe. When I was watching, I had NO idea the girls were prostitutes. I thought they were normal girls and I was waiting for the part where some guy injects them with heroin and turns them into completely hopeless beings and witnessing their change from normal -> hooker. But they were already in hooker mode/clothing which was quite an eye opener.

In other words, I could rock up to a restaurant in HK in my singlet top and denim skirt + flip flops, and declare I was a hooker without anyone doubting me.

Dootdidoot. Okay I have nothing else to say. The fact that I almost said I dress like an Asian hooker kind of left me speechless.

OHMYGAWD SO LITTLE DAYS AT RUSE LEFT

Ooh Some photos from our Cadet dinner :)

We went on Monday night (21st September) to a place called Steamboat in Epping. It's in the genesis building.  Meal? Basically an all-you-can-eat-hotpot. SUITED ME PERFECTLY. I could ate lots.

HI DAVID He was the first to sit down I think

Rest of the restaurant

Spicy vs non spicy.  Nicole had the spicy side all to herself, while Jen, Buddha, Milo and I shared the non-spicy side.

Year 12s :D

Strange looking sauce. What the hell is it?!

Table setting. I got a splinter from the cheap wood chopsticks :(  I prefer disposable bamboo ones.

Ohh yay. Buffet table. It was going to be a nice photo, except a junior shoved her hand into it D:

First plate. I wanted to take a photo of all the plates I got, but I made too many trips/couldn't be bothered wasting time taking photos. Teehee.

:) All smiles that night

Year 12 cadets :)

:) Ahh that was  a fun filled night- lots to eat = jolly good times.

Hope there are more occasions like this to come!

PS> DAD'S NEW PROJECT

PS. JANET! OMG SUNNY HAS A STALKER ON NEIGHBOURS> *gag* what bad taste

Tiny post

I think I jarred my hand today while trying to catch Deva's american football.

I went to the docs after school and he said I need an x-ray. So that's where I'll be headed after school T_T;

It's painful as, but I'm pleased to say I'm a quick recover-er, and it's already NOT purple anymore. However, it is still fat as, and I can't wait until I can bend my finger without it hurting. In the meanwhile, I'll be walking around clutching my hand every now and then because I can feel it throbbing like c razy even when I don't move it. :(

Onto happier news...

Is there happy news to report today?

NO NOT REALLY  I WON'T GENUINELY BE HAPPY UNTIL PEOPLE START SENDING THESE BABY PHOTOS IN.

Yes I want them. Send them in real quick guise, otherwise I'll draw you on paint looking gay as.

/ END POST. I wanted to talk about something insightful- but it takes too much pain/effort/time to type with a jarred left index finger

:( Wish me a quick recovery. !!

YAAAAAAAAY for m8 :D

DSLR (damn I want one)

SLR (BUY ONE)

There's a funny funny that goes along with the next 3 photos.

Benny, Yoon and Justin ask if I can take a midget photo for them.  I say sure, and just wait for them to get ready.  They take ages, but when they're finally done, they look alright.

They pose, I start counting... 3.. 2.. -

Michael sackwhacks Benny

They straighten up, after laughing for about a minute or so.  I begin my countdown again.

3.. 2.. -

Michael and Justin get sackwhacked by Benny

The photo is off centre because I was caught by surprise and couldn't help but laugh along with them ;D

Laughter stops, the boys straighten up again, and I start my countdown.

But I press the camera button before I say 2- because I don't want to see the guys go infertile.

OHMYGOSH. I can't finish this post.

This is taking ages.

TO BE CONTINUED.

(btw guys, i've started isketch again)  ;)
