Things change. And friends leave. And life doesn't stop for anybody
In particular, I really, really, REALLY liked Ezra Miller and the character he played. So funny. But appaz in real life, he's a bit of a snobby douche.
Perfect movie for a chill evening :)

Picket lines
The protestors were really loud though. Banging on their buckets, yelling as a chorus, waving their banners around, trying to block students from making their way around campus. Unlike last time, I wasn't in the main part of uni today so I spent most of my time in business/eng and the only time I crossed paths with them was when I was crossing the city rd bridge.
I understand their reason for striking. But I don't approve of the way it was done. It's not very effective and it's just a hindrance to students who do have class. Quote "your picket line is blocking me from my HD".
The only good thing coming out of it are the tweets!
Only 2 more full days until the long weekend!! COUNTING DOWN :)

Daniel
I'm pretty sure the youtube box isn't gonna fit properly here. But screw it. Just listen.
This song's left me chanting "daniel" all day. Ahaha, but I really, really love this song.

It's a small, small world.
Today I was once again reminded of how small the world actually is.

Thoughts on a chillax-as-hell Friday
My breakfast was delish this morning. Even though my French toast is a bit too brown, I can see a lot of improvement in my culinary skills. Tres happy- I love breakfast.
Anyway, time to jot down a few thoughts.
Yesterday I took the bus home with K after uni. Along the way, it picked up a friend, but I was too busy surfing IG to notice. K recognised him and told me after we got home, and I'm kinda bothered by the fact that X didn't say hi or anything even though he was sitting adjacent to me. I know I do that sometimes, usually in the morning when I know I can't hold a good conversation. Sigh. A hypocrite I am. I don't know why it's bothering me so much though. AM I NOT APPROACHABLE?!
Do you guys ever get suspicious when you get a text from a friend you haven't talked to in a while? I got one yday and I was like.. Erm must approach with caution, what does this person want now? AND OF COURSE I was right, it was one of those "could you help me out with..." texts. I have no problem with helping you out. I have a problem with people pretending to be chummy/making small talk before asking. I know you want something from me, you know I know, yet you still beat around the bush.
Maybe it's "polite". But my conversational texts are always ignored/half assedly replied to by this person. It's irritating as.
Last pet peeve for this post: please don't call me when you are gaming. Or text. I was supposed to Skype J last night but it turned into one of those "uh huh... Yeah.. Mm" conversations.
B: anyway, today the most ridiculous thing happened ... <long story>
J: oh man, that sucks...
B: been up to much lately?
J: naw not really..
B: planning any holidays after you exchange?
J: yeah..
ZOMG PLEASE ELABORATE.
Turns out J was gaming. I was fuming. Thanks for initiating a chat you had no interest in. Fuarr.
If I had a brother, I might be a bit more understanding. But D has a zero tolerance on games at home, so I guess that's rubbed off on me in a way. >:( sorry boys, I can't help but think it's annoying.

it always happens when you're not expecting it
Currently feeling kinda frazzled at uni.
About 20 minutes ago, I was crossing the road with 2 textbooks in my bag, a lecture pad & tax legislation and phone in one hand, a coffee and a muffin in the other. I crossed the road when it was not my turn to cross (oops), and I dropped my phone.
I always drop my phone. Every single time I do, I experience this quick moment of panic and the only thought in my head is "HOLYSHIT, IS MY PHONE STILL WORKING?" after a moment of fumbling around, my finger hits the homekey, and I'm super relieved to see my wallpaper flash on.
However today, when I bent over to pick up my phone, I didn't even think about checking my phone to see it was still working. I think I was just assuming that it would be fine on the count that it had always survived a small drop.
BUT NO.
NOT TODAY.
Today, my phone decided that it was the final straw, and it couldn't take my abuse anymore.
I'm relieved though. My plan had finished a month ago, and I've been sitting on the fence about getting a new phone/plan. The past few weeks have been torturous for me - should I get the iPhone 5, Nexus or Samsung? Should I switch to Telstra, Virgin or Optus? And because of my indecision, I've been stuck on Voda for longer than I should have been.
So Vodafone, fuck you. You phantom data charges (over $250) while I was out of the country was seriously the last straw.

Eye heart eggs
1. Breakfast is delicious- making this took me less than 10 minutes. I wish I could wake up 10 minutes earlier everyday to eat like this. But mornings just don't work like that. 20 mins feels like 5 minutes when you're trying to do 10 billion other things at once.
2. I kept flicking back to this photo during the day and it made me smile every single time. It set me up in a great mood for the day :D Instagram loved it too.
Jan packed arvo evening today including uni, eating out, going to the gym, oztag and making dinner, but super satisfying and now I'm about half a minute away from sweet slumber.
Have a lovely week people!

Deaf as a mofo today
In other news, today will be the second time I've driven with someone else apart from my parents in the passenger seat. Kinda nervous. But yes, one step closer to getting my P's, buying a car and getting away from here.
Kidding.
But really.

We are just different, okay?
K is one of my work friends and she's ALWAYS in a relationship. Over the few years that I've known her, I think I've seen about 4 of her boyfriends.

aaaaaaaaaaand we're back.
First day of uni today.
I got there early to hit up Coop for my tax leg before my lecture. Made my way through the line, got to the counter just to realise, DUN DUN DUNNNN, I had left my wallet at home.
Luckily K was just leaving the house as I called and I caught up with her at uni to pick up my wallet. Thank god.
Anywho, my tax lecturer looks like a bikie wearing a suit (with a bow tie and red pocket square!). I respect that he has industry knowledge (nothing bugs me more than know-it-all academics, offence intended), but I find him seriously intimidating because the words "fucking" and "bullshit" fly out of his mouth (draped in bits of spit) in the middle of every sentence. Swearing won't make me like you more.
Stop trying to make tax law cool, because it ain't.
Like CTFD dude, it's just tax. Stop yelling at no one in particular, it's too alarming for a 9am class.
I have him again tomorrow morning. *hangs head*.
I'm either gonna sit up the back or wear a poncho to avoid getting rained on by his spit.

He's back!
Today we had Ethiopian (harhar I had about half a dozen people make inappropriate jokes at work when I told them my Friday night plans) at crows nest and it was pretty damn neat.
I've never tried African cuisine before so this was a really interesting experience.
We ordered a range of chicken, beef, lamb and vego dishes and they were served with sorghum/teff pancakes that were rolled up like carpets hahaha. I'm gonna put some pics up on fb in the next few days, so those who are fortunate enough to be my fb friend, you'll see :):)
In other news, I went to work today for a meeting and saw all the peeps I wanted to see (or who's left standing anyway). At the meeting, the ice breaker we had to do was to talk about the highlights/facts of our busy season (a clear example of how original our ideas are). There were so many people saying stuff like "oh I never had to work a minute past 5.45". My bottom jaw hit the floor. Even during non-peak season I rarely finish before 6. Some people are so lucky.
Digressing, I'm still in my TED phase, but I can't watch talks that are not about the human condition. It's so interesting how people have spent so many years researching stuff that we take for granted. And pretty much in the space of 20 minutes they offload the basic gist of their research to millions of people all over the world. Tres cool, tres cool. It's one of the few apps on my phone that make me become smarter haha.
This is probably the randomest collection of thoughts, but whatevs bruh, it's Friday I can do whatevuh I want. :)
Hope y'all have a lovely weekend. It's gonna rain for sure, so, I'm guessing homework weekend?
