Mandarins taste weird when you eat them after brushing your teeth

I am king at myob. Imprisoned myself in the library for a couple of hours today and managed to knock over most of my accounting assignment :)
In other news, I was scrolling through M's mobile photos, and I realized there were heaps of food photos!! I asked her about it and she said she took them for me, and she's been collecting business cards from restaurants :D she's so awesome.
The Korean ginseng food... place in Sussex foodcourt closed down!! WHERE will I find clear chicken broth with ginseng, sweet potato noodles, chicken breast, duck giblets and msg-less dinner set now?!?! So devo.

PS. Just browsed through visitor stats - and wow, quite a few views from Sg! Surprising, because I don't know anyone who lives there 8) But hi!! :D

Freezing my fingers off

So... I'm at the Easter show again. No, I don't enjoy the stagnant odour present within the showground, I'm being a good daughter today and am accompanying M because no one else wants to go :)

But it's really cold here and now I wish I bought those gloves in the fashion pavilion.

Brr

NSW won the polocrosse final!!

GUESS WHO WENT TO THE EASTER SHOW?!

EYE DID!

It was awesome fun.  I go with the same bunch of people every year. Yes. EVERY YEAR. It's been our tradition for the past .. 6/7 years?  I found it to be the BEST this year. I don't know why, but we didn't have time to sit and do nothing/feel bored at all. Every minute of today was jam-packed with goodness and I absolutely loved it to bits!

Might do a proper post- I thought I did one last year, or the year before.. or the year before that, but I couldn't really find it :/  Can someone tell me (pls Rex?) where to find the curly fries? I kept seeing people with them but never actually found the store. But yar. If you could let me know, I'd be forever indebted to you (we can go together next year!).

Anyway, hope you all have a nice end to your easter break :)  Cheerios!

YES!!

Finally figured out a way to shield myself from the sun. It's breathable, light, I can see through it, and my dad cam still check his blind spot. I look ridiculous, yes, but whatever.

Technology is mad. I've been able to post to my blog via email :D

Dindins at cabra tonight! Yay. Hope you're all having a fantastic Easter :)

Hello from federation square!!

Tuesday, April 19, 2011

Hehe

Hi Belinda, sorry to call you on your day off but <insert manager's name> is going crazy ape. Just wanted to ask about blahblah...

;D kinda glad I'm not there!!

Anyway this morning I grabbed a serviette from the kitchen table to blow my nose. It smelt funny so I looked at it again. Turned out to be a floor duster!! A clean one, thank goodness.

One left

Last one today. Afterwards, hello Melbourne! Got an app which tells you how feminine/ masculine you look and which Korean celeb you look like. The only thing we have in common are small eyes D:

can sleeping for 12 hours give you headaches?

So last night, instead of studying, I slept... like a pig.

After my exam in the morning, I yumcha-ed with my parents, got home, showered and slept.

Got up again at 7, ate dinner, brushed my teeth and slept.

Woke up at 9 this morning.

Wait.. that means I slept more than 12 hours. AHAHA.

But yeah, it feels like there is a balloon filled with water inside my head.  There are floating bits and bobs "NPV", "Present value factor", "NCF", "Annuities" dancing inside and I just can't concentrate.

NOOOOOOOO. I have NEVER been so under prepared for an exam IN MY LIFE. But screw it. I have my cheat sheet with all my formulae and a financial calculator, and a brain good enough to use it.

But yes!! After my fin exam on Mon, and my acct2 exam on Tues, I'M FREE!  Free to roam the streets of Melbourne (though my sister is being annoying stubborn and refusing to go!).  I also plan to do my fair share of exercise (joining the Global Corporate Challenge this year!!), and adventure in my 2 weeks of leave :D  Need to find my camera charger.

So excited. :D

But I shouldn't be.  Because I have 3 assignments due in the first week back.

Party hard!

Grateful

Good morning,

Just posting to remind you all that we are all very fortunate our genes didn't mutate when our embryos were forming many years ago. We were born as healthy babies no mobility issues.

Yesterday, I went with a bunch of people from work to play ten pin with some kids from the spastic center. Despite being limited to movement and speech, they still beat me (no, they thrashed my score so badly). There was a guy who was really nifty with his iPhone and was versing me in words with friends. (I'm on a temporary hiatus btw, at least until next Tuesday)

Gotta stop feeling sorry for myself and start feeling more grateful I can move, talk, do whatever I want and blend in with everyone else.

Though knowing me, this will probably go on for a week or so and then just die down eventually.

Hope you all have a lovely end of week!!

apparently camel is in this year

Procrastinating.

These are so nice.

So elegant and swishy looking.  And very Bewitched/I-Dream-of-Jeannie-esque.

I love swishy.

I'd tolerate glass slippers and talking mice if I got to wear this everyday!!

Sometimes I wish I lived in corset-wearing-times. Everyone got to wear swishy dresses.

Ahaha I feel so stupid for saying that, but it's true.  Hmm. IRL the only time you get to wear a swishy dress is at your own wedding.  Damn. Life sucks.

Ok. I think this studying is driving me a little crazy :(

My weekend by pics.

This is not really the weekend, but to celebrate the end of busy season, our division had an event on 'treasure hunt'. Wasn't really a hunt for treasure- but it was a bit like the amazing race.  Ever played the lying down game before?  Tourists were also taking photos of me :|  But I won 10 points for my team. so. :D

Dinner by myself on Friday.  Chucked a steak on the pan.
mmm red rawness. (didn't look this red irl)

First ever creme egg.  It's so sweet D: But the chocolate was good?  Speaking of, there's a charity box at work where we can donate chocolate eggs to Kids Xpress.  I bought a pack last week, AND ENDED UP EATING IT MYSELF! :(  So yeah. In hindsight, I should have just donated money. =-=;

T2!  Overrated.  But their tea bags are really pretty! Little luxuries. Appreciating life. Ah. I think I like the concept of drinking tea/being sophisticated/sort of healthy more than the actual taste of tea.

(Is it weird where I'm placing my captions.. I normally have it below the pics)

Anyway.  I especially cleared my weekend of any events to focus on study.  But I made a return to the kitchen!

Mmm parmesan...

Some mash before it went into the oven.

Hair was being unreasonable this morning. So was my face. Censored it. Wacky. No gel. No wax. Just damn gravity defying hair.

Finally sat down to study.. and started playing with my phone.

This photo (of a photo) was taken with a korean camera app. Freaking awesome app.

Arrrrrrrrggh. Boring post.  I don't know what to talk about nowadays - except for really mundane stuff.  Want to read about anything in particular?  I wouldn't mind having an aunt agony thing going on. :P

Weekend went by way too quickly.  Hope you kids have a great week at uni / work!

Did badly in an exam? This is for you!

A father passing by his son’s bedroom was astonished to see that his

bed was nicely made and everything was picked up.

Then he saw an envelope, propped up prominently on the pillow that

was addressed to ‘Dad.’

With the worst premonition he opened the envelope with trembling

hands and read the letter.

Dear Dad:

I’m sorry to be writing to you like this. I didn’t think I had much choice. I had to

elope with my new girlfriend because I wanted to avoid a scene with Mom

and you. I have been finding real passion with Stacy and she is so nice.

But I knew you would not approve of her because of all her piercings,

tattoos, tight motorcycle clothes and the fact that she is much older

than I am.

But it’s not only the passion… Dad, she’s pregnant.

Stacy says that we will be very happy. She lives in a trailer in the

woods and has a stack of firewood for the whole winter. We share a dream

of having many more children.

Stacy has opened my eyes to the fact that marijuana doesn’t really

hurt anyone. We’ll be growing it for ourselves and trading it with the

other people that live nearby for cocaine and ecstasy.

In the meantime we will pray that science will find a cure for AIDS so

Stacy can get better. She deserves it.

Don’t worry Dad. I’m 15 and I know how to take care of myself.

Someday I’m sure that we will be back to visit so that you can get to

know your grandchildren.

Love, Your Son John

P.S. Dad, none of the above is true. I’m over at Tommy’s house. I just

wanted to remind you that there are worse things in life than the report

card that’s in my center desk drawer.

I love you. Call me when it’s safe to come home.

This is hilarious. HAHA

Got my glasses with the higher prescription on.

I'm ready.. to study. Finally.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend! Amazing weather today :)

ultimatum

Ok. So.. I've gotta stop having rosti wraps from Maccas for breakfast.  That's the problem with working in Circular Quay.

I pass Burger King. I pause, and think 'do I really need a second breakfast?'.  I shake my head and proceed to walk past BK, almost immediately regretting my decision. That's ok. McDonalds is up ahead.

Exams are coming up.

I don't have much to say actually. My eyes are weak from reading. Reading all this bullshit politics on SMH!

I'm going to be so freaking pissed off if one day we find out that there is no such thing as global warming, etc. The Greens also piss me off. So much pisses me off >:@

Geez it feels good to be angry.

Ok. I am sleepy and am heading to bed.  WILL NOT BE words-with-friends-ing with anyone for the next few days. You guys all win by default :(  I will be STUDYING. Hopefully.

Have a super week!

PS. study hard this week guys. i've planned a mega date with my textbooks this weekend! yay!

regrets

Should have seen this guy live when I had the chance. He's so smooth ;D

And I should stop procrastinating :( Exams coming up.

Boo.

Dinner at Doltone House

Hi all,

It is time like these when I really like my job.

Yesterday we had a masquerade ball-

the ice princess and the angry bird

First time I've been to Doltone House (I hope it's not my last- when you folks start getting married- please consider this beautiful location :D) - and I was expecting a really large, luxe, and grandeur federation full brick function hall, but it was just another glass building.  Looks like the overseas terminal :)

But anyway, onto something more important- THE ACTUAL (3 course) DINNER :D

Pics- courtesy of my iPhone :D i love it!

Chilled spanner crab salad, coconut, salmon roe, baby mache leaves (tasted weird)

main: chicken breast wrapped in proscuitto with sundried tomato risotto cake, steaked broccolini and red current jus

The alternative main was a braised wagyu beef cheek. My friend and I were fighting over it- I gave up in the end and let her have it - JUST AS WELL because it was nasty.  Beef cheek is really tender. Wagyu is tender, therefore Wagyu beef cheek is SUPER tender and soft and squishy and ewww. It also didn't look very appetising so .. no photo.

dessert: mini lemon meringue tart, chocolate and rasperry macaroon, mini pistachio and olive oil cake, mini cappucino cup

First thing I picked up was the raspberry macaroon. It was nice. Then I picked up the cappucino cup. That was ah-mazin'.  First of all, the cream was lovely and whipped, but stiff-ish, and smooth and milky, but sweet.  The dusting powder was chocolately, but a bit bitter. Left a really sweet aftertaste.  The coffee cream under the vanilla cream was had these little air pockets, and wasn't as sweet as the vanilla. Pretty good. And the little cup was make of chocolate. Then I had some meringue- never been a fan, didn't blow me away this time.  The pistachio + olive oil cake was a first for me, and tasted pretty good.  I'd say it's more for the "mature taste", as it leans towards being a savoury dessert.  There were a few pieces of biscotti which tasted funny, so .. yeah. I don't know what else to say... except I want some a mini cap cup now!

Mandatory incredibooth photo (har har)

During the night, a bunch of us posed behind golden frames and really antique furniture settings. There was a pro photographer taking photos, and I hope he didn't get a copy of this :P  Because apparently this gets posted up on the intranet!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!
