WB krudd

Filtered pic of my lunch - the highlight of my day.

Returning PM.

I can't help but roll my eyes when Abbott starts talking. I don't even know what it is anymore. Too much bs in politics.

Blah.

Seriously considering

Now that holidays are just on the horizon, I'm thinking of getting a pet...

SEA MONKEYS?

Watch this space. I'll decide in a couple of days.

I'm actually really fascinated by these. When I was a kid my sister got a set for her birthday and I remember they were alive and kicking before we went on a six week holiday. When we came back, the tank was all dried up and there was nothing but salt crystals at the bottom. We just refilled the tank with water, and VOILA, the sea monkeys were alive again a day later. AMAZING.

Silent killer

I look at my 5 page case list and die a little inside.

My memory can only associate so many names with cases. Fml. Brain overload.

Someone needs to give me a good knock about the head if I end up in tax.

EGGSPERIMENTING

Yo guys. I baked eggs this morning.

And last night when I was foodtube surfing, I found a video that taught how to poach an egg in the microwave.

So I tried it, and it was successful. It took me a few eggs before I finally got one that wasn't overcooked (my microwave is HEAPS old and has different settings).

SO YEAH. A poached egg in 45 seconds.

And my baked egg. With tomato and spinach- which was LOVELY because I cooked the tomato in a pan beforehand.

Just gonna record my ingreds/steps here, and if you guys want to try/give me tips, PLEASE!

Diced tomatoes- 4tbspn out of a can, or alternatively dice 2 fresh tomatoes (1cm by 1cm blocks, I like mushy to matters)

A handful of fresh spinach. I just gave these a rinse and a good scrunch. I'm not a fan of blanching veges actually.

Half a clove of garlic- very finely diced. I sharpened my knife just for this and Jamie oliver-ed the shit out of it. I HATE garlic pieces. Ughgh. But somehow it makes the food taste so good :'(

Turn the burner on. Add a teaspoon of oil onto you pan. Before you spread the oil, chuck on the garlic and let the flavour be infused into the oil. Don't let it brown too much.

Spread it around the pan, and add in your tomatoes. If your pan is SUPER hot, watch out for exploding bits flying out. Add in a light pinch of salt and sugar, a turn of pepper and a dash or two of Tabasco. If you're crazy adventurous like be, squeeze in a smidge (just a smidge) of BBQ sauce- it's my secret ingredient.

Stir stir stir! This should be cooking for like a minute and a half. Turn the burner off. And it's time to assemble.

Oil your oven-proof dish. Put in half of the tomato mix in your dish, chuck spinach on one side (the egg side), layer on the rest of the tomato, more spinach on the other side (top layer), and crack an egg on the tomato. I added a bit of olive oil into the spinach for good measure and baked it on 240 deg for about 10 minutes.

I'm really happy with how this turned out. But next time I'm gonna add some sun dried tomatoes, and feta or goat cheese. And omg if I have prosciutto. Or chorizo.

Zermagerd.

Thanks to circa, instagram, not quite nigella and tastemade (sorted team) for all the inspiration. This is the best breakfast I've had in a while.

When I get mad

I realised I'm really bossy in the kitchen. When I'm going about my own business I hate it when someone interrupts my procedures. I have a set method of doing stuff where I have planned what, when I'm going to do stuff and where. If you get in my way, ill be mad pissed.

Like for example, this morning I was on breakfast duty for K (she has an exam this morning so we all figured last night that ill sacrifice some sleep and make brekkie/take her to uni). As I was shuffling around the kitchen doing my own thang, D sees me cracking eggs and proceeds to turn the gas burner on. Before the pan gets hot, he pours in about 2 tbs oil.

I have a problem with this.

1. I haven't toasted my bread yet. K asked for eggs on toast. So I can't cook the eggs yet.

2. The pan has to be hot before you add the oil. I feel like it has a weird taste if you let it heat up slow with the pan.

3. 2 tbs oil is TOO MUCH for 3 eggs in a non stick. -.- You can get away with none.

4. I wanted to let the eggs get back to room temp before cooking them- K wasn't even up yet! Needless to say, by the time she got there it was cold.

5. Also. I had 2 jobs. To make breakfast and drive her. He took 1.5 of that away from me. >:( not happy jan

So yeah, here are the five things that REALLY infuriated me this morning (i am also not exactly what you'd call a morning person) but I'd at least be civil if you let me go about my own way.

M is also like this (but to a lesser extent) when I'm making dinner at night- but at least her advice is actually useful and she has like what, 20 years of experience.

I'm not a pro in the kitchen, but please, I'm a pro at making eggs K loves.

I guess this egg story could be extended as a metaphor for my life. #sadtimes.

Hope you all have a lovely 4 day week. Happy studying to those on stuvac like me :)

Why couldn't I control myself?

Instagram is my source of inspiration for breakfast creations. Today, I was bored, and decided to eat the remaining 4 pieces of sundried tomato sitting in the fridge.

Little did I know that a few hours later I would come across this picture.

:'( I could have had this for breakfast.

BUT NO.

I will resort to fresh tomayters instead.

HASHTAGfirstworldprobs

I even have spinach (so rare) in the fridge. BUT NO SUNDRIED TOMAYTERS.

As you can tell, even with exams looming, my life is peachy. Ha, yeah my biggest regret- eating those tomatoes, yeah, life is pretty sweet.

Holy moly

Hello. I'm in shock.

This whole semester I've spent alot of time in bed. Like this ^

I went into grade centre to check my marks. What the ffffff. This may be the best semester of my life.

:''') I was expecting the usual bad grades. Pleasantly surprised. So happy.

BANG BANG

For those who missed it, this was the highlight (happens at 1:00)

AHAHA. Sucker didn't deserve the punch, but what's an origin game without a few punches being thrown around right?

It's been an eventful 2 days in my living room. Haven't spent so much time actually watching tv in a while.

Will Australia...

How frustrating was that qualifier match against Japan huh!

I wanted to see what the odds were during the game so I started typing into google. AND THEN I saw what other people typed. Invaded?! What the ?!

One of those people

I've become one of those people who wear trackies everywhere. To pump petrol, to woolies, to drop K off of that station. It feels so good, I don't even want to go to uni today because it means I have to change out.

WHY DO I HAVE TO BE SO VAIN?! WHY?!

If I had a I-don't-give-a-shit attitude I'd so rock these to class.

I sort of understand why there are so many girls sporting the juicy track suits everywhere. Velvet mmm vellleetttt!

Haha jk

I was just thinking about things that annoy me. Aside from saying "no offence" there are some other things you could say to tick me off.

A lot of dickheads I know use the phrase "haha jk" or "lol jk". And most of the time, it's not funny, and it was most definitely not meant as a joke.

People who say this usually:
1. Assume they know you/the full story
2. Mean what they say, but add the "jk" at the end so we can't catch them out on it.

It's a really cheap way of insulting someone.

Haha I think you're a fuckwit and you are ugly. Lol jk.

No it's not funny.

And the damage is done.

All I want to do now is slap you with a big smelly fish (get this reference?).
