Poor Virginia
I'm in bed at the moment, and this just cracked me up. I had to stuff a pillow in my face to muffle the sound.
Although this isn't really that big of a deal, you can't go really operate your business saying shit like "A MEDIUM LATTE FOR VAGINA... VAGINA... VAGINA?"
I feel so bad for the barista who has to call out the name.
Someone might even mistake it for the penis game.
On a completely unrelated note, last night I dreamt that an American Indian chief took me island hopping. We literally hopped all over the island to the next one and so on. I remember feeling really happy when I woke up. Hope I get this dream again :)

Getting political
I see a number of ignorant posts about the labor govt not being able to bring the budget back to surplus this year.
Lay off. Seriously. Do you realise what will be cut if they really tried to bring it back to surplus? Education grants, infrastructure, health... What do you do with your surplus anyway? Spend it on the people. There's so much left to be fixed in the country.
I mean of course it can't be like this in the long term, but Aus still doesn't exactly have the largest working population, govt income from tax isn't enough.
Call me ignorant or whatever, I feel as though the current debate about our deficit is more of a political one rather than an economical one.

Personal Space
Recently, I've noticed that my sister has morphed into a feely person. And by feely, I don't mean copping-a-feel type feely, but hugs and just in general, violating my right to personal space.

Things to look forward to
While I was procrastinating earlier, I realised one of the things I'm really looking forward to is listening to people's stories. I figured that while I spend over 2 months abroad, I'll probably cross paths with a lot of talkative travellers.
When you're travelling it's always ok to approach strangers and talk to them. When we were in Vegas, we started chatting to a NZ family on a bus. All that it took was "OMG you're kiwi's! We're from Sydney!". But in Sydney, I feel stupid if I do something like that, because I'm not a traveller. I don't have the right to approach strangers. Do you know what I mean?
You're a tourist, you're supposed to be curious, open and a bit enthusiastic! And yolo!
So yes. I'm really keen to be a tourist again. Like fuaaar, get me out of here. Drowning under assessments arrrghhh!
How is it almost eleven already :'( today's gone by too fast.

whinge
D told me I have a 3 month probation period - I'm not allowed to drive myself around for the next three months. I'm mad about and I think it's bullshit.
I think if he could, he would still strap me into a stroller.
Sometimes I wonder how different life would be if I was a guy, or the 2nd kid.
WHT
BBQ at a friend's house. Yeah it was nice, but the whole driving thing dampened my mood and therefore today is a shitty day.
So much angst left over from my teen days.

Fuaaar finance is not so bad
I learnt how to use my financial calculator. Now I can calculate how many days until my birthday with a few prompt taps into my calculator. Tres cool.
I can also calculate the IRR without using the guess and check method = WINNING.
Why did I not bother with this before? Could have saved myself so much pain/time.
2 exams tomorrow, but I'm so happy right now. :')

Misunderstandings
We heard bits and pieces about the marathon explosions in Boston this morning on the radio. I wasn't really tuning in (was trying to remember all my cases for today's exam), and I don't think D was paying full attention also because as I got out of the car he said "see? You shouldn't do c2s. Did you hear the radio? People die from doing marathons."
Anyway, I log into fb and one of my friends has posted "my thoughts are with you, Boston". I was confused. Why would your thoughts be with Boston if a runner has died from exhaustion?
So I googled Boston news.
It was not death by exhaustion, but 2 explosions.
My thoughts are with Boston (and income tax), and I really hope the city and the people recover from this.
D just really wants me to stop participating in any sport. =_=
Digressing, I got up at 5 today, ate breakfast, had a coffee and I'm feeling great. Wish I brought my gym gear. All this exam adrenaline pumping through my veins!!! I feel like I CAN DO ANYTHAAANG!

what's wrong with this world
Warning: It might be a bit explicit for some.
So I was sitting on the 546 the other day, minding my own business. I heard a few boys bantering on about girls and started eavesdropping a bit. I turned around to take a peek at one of the guys because I thought his voice sounded really familiar. I was right. It was B.
He was complaining about his gf, telling the guys about her hair down there, laughing and saying shit like "it's so gross". I know it's not 1920, but come on, talking about this sort of stuff on public transport is pretty off-putting.
That wasn't even the worst part though. He continued to tell the other guys that he started "banging some other chicks on the side". All his friends are like, "oh yeah" or "nice one".
WHAT.
THE.
HECK.
First of all, they're all my sister's age. I know K's nearly an adult, but to me, she is still 10. The thought of some of her friends being sexually active really freaks me out.
Next, talking about it in public - within earshot of kids.
With the hair - well, I'm more amused by this. Pubic hair on a toilet seat is gross. Pubic hair in a bar of soap is also really gross. But pubic hair in a pubic zone should be pretty damn normal. You only have the right to complain if you are also hair free.
And banging some other chicks on the side? That's just sad. Like, bro, you might have game, but you should see a doctor because you might have some STI's too.
The absolute worst thing is, I know the guy's girlfriend. She is a sweet girl. But every time I see her now, this thought will cross my mind.
I should not have eavesdropped on that convo.
Curiosity sure killed this cat.

Bad dreams and real life
I had a dream that one of my friends snitched on me for bitching about our mutual friend.
I woke up feeling pissed off, went to uni, saw her and hated on her for a bit.
A few things I learned from this:
- I actually feel guilty for being a little bitchy.
- regardless of whether the situation is real or not, my emotions are very intact. I am not a very rational person when emotions come into play.
Only when someone asked if we had beef, I realised how ridiculous it all was. Told her what happened in my dream and she loled, said "you know I'd never do that to you". Even though I got over it on the surface, I can't help but be wary of her now. Just to be safe.
Kinda feel bad for her now. It's all my fault ;D

they know how to party
Harroo
Last night I went to my friend, M's 21st birthday party. It was mostly family/friends and a lot of the speeches were in Punjabi. I spent most of my night listening to a newly made friend translate for me (I was the only asian person there).
I told my parents that when I came home and they asked me "weren't you bored?"
THE ANSWER IS NO WAY.
These people know how to party. After the speeches/video/dance presentations were done (4 hours later hahaha so many people), they opened up the dance floor (to be known as the "DF" from here onwards) and EVERYONE, young, old and awkward scrambled eagerly towards the wide open space to boogey the night away. The older generations totally ripped the DF to shreds man. This would never happen at an Asian family gathering.
Maybe it's just M's family and friends, but they are so close. I wish my whole extended family/friends were this close. Big families are so awesome. In the future, I'm gonna try to convince K to have lots of kids. It's gonna be great.
It was really funny when I was talking to one of the girls about how complicated/intermingled their relationships are. She was saying something about her cousin being married to the son of the couple sitting behind us - who happen to be related (somehow) to M.
But yeah, going back to my original point - my parents don't know how to have fun in comparison. If we're at karaoke, D will not sing. D will stare longingly at the scrolling lyrics on the screen, but he will not sing.
If D was a Chinese woman in 1940, he might have made a very good bride. He has a straight nose, small lips, round face, long legs, super conservative views and he's very poised. Part of being poised and presentable is achieved by doing the following: not engaging in any embarrassing activities, such as singing at karaoke and dancing at parties, not smiling with teeth showing in photos and laughing in a very dignified way.
It was annoying wearing a sari though. Even though it's super pretty, it's a bitch to keep in place (the drapey stuff slung over your shoulder) and it gets kinda hot inside.
But even so, I loved it. HAHA. Sequins and sparkly shit rock my socks.

booyeah
Hey, I'm back!
Spent a lot of my weekend in a hot tub, playing FIFA, and participating in a bit of banter.
VERY good few days and feeling a bit sorry that I'm back. But I am, so I'll try to make the most of this break.
Tomorrow/today I'll be busy petting baby animals. I'm crying on the inside from excitement.
