This post will only make sense to those who know specifically who I am talking about.
Yesterday, I woke up to a hilarious facebook notification.
Backstory, two people recently got together, and for the past month, mutual friends' facebook feeds have been suffering the case of the lover's spam.
So, I woke up to someone inviting me to join a group which was sorta stickin' it to them. I was going to comment and say something, but my mobile internet crashed, and completely forgot about it until this morning.
This morning I woke up with a notification telling me that lover #1 updated his status expressing his anger and tagged people who commented in the group.
I read the status update and felt disheartened.
- Why tag people? That's just opening up the doors for people who don't understand the context to chime, and insult/defend based on what... ?
- Can't anyone take a joke? Obviously this group meant no harm. People who commented aren't of a malicious nature.
- Even though it was a joke, I'm sure there was an underlying theme. Everyone's telling you something. START USING FB CHAT.
Anyway, I started reading the comments underneath the status, and I felt even more appalled.
- If you don't know what's going on, STFU. Honestly, the world doesn't need your useless imput to fuel the fire.
- Stuff said by lover #2 was even worse - and I can't believe law was dragged into this. This just escalated the 'debate' to a whole new level.
- Just number one again (I really want to keep these coming in threes). Reading the chime comments really PISSED ME OFF. BAD.
Bottom line is, learn to take a fucking joke (excuse my francais) and look, IRL, no one really gives a shit if you're together or not together - everyone is selfish and cares about themselves only. I don't care if you're together, or not. It's sweet either way. What I care about is the spam on my facebook feed. It acts as a barrier for me to look at other people because my SCROLL on my mouse is BROKEN.
Lets hope I don't get tagged in an angry status update because of this post.
If I do, I'm not going to respond. Not because I'm a chicken, but because I'm not obliged to. Lover #2 always says on her blog/formsprings/whatever media outlet, that her posts are her opinions only, and if you don't like it, then don't read it.
I totally agree.
This is my space, and I'm not defaming anyone. For what it's worth, I could have made this all up.
PS. Don't post up anything you think is unsuitable for your parents to read/see. I'm friends with my dad on facebook, so if your photo security settings are at "friends of friends", he can see your stuff. Be smart and hide your tagged photos, (it's killing me a bit inside to say this) because you won't regret it later in life!
Gonna post up my Caffe Contessa pics :) (All three of them. ahaha)
11 screams of joy:
THANK YOU BELLE.
JUST, THANKYOU.
You made this all up!
:)
There's a simple setting on facebook which allows you to block notifications from specific people on your facebook friends list.
Use it.
@ anon: how? :S
found it. cheers
lol belle, i cant believe you didnt know about that setting
I let my brother read the posts and one of the chimers came from his school. Doesn't like him.
Herp derp. Buy a new mouse lols
@Edsped: I'm not surprised >:( he sounds like a real busy body.
@anon1: Yes, I'm sorry. I spend so much time on facebook stalking everyone and taking in as much as I can. I don't normally block people/feeds ahaha.
@anon2: BUT. BUT. BUT.. GET ME ONEEE. I just need to find a better one :( Don't think forking out $30 is reasonable for a good mouse.
I spent $50 on a mouse recently lol!
What the heck Bosco, you don't even play computer games D: why would you need a $50 mouse? Does it really feel that much better?
