It's a small, small world.

Today I was once again reminded of how small the world actually is.

Story one:
On my way into the CBD from uni, I was sitting infront of two gossipy girls who did not pause to take a breath during the whole 20 minute bus ride. I started eavesdropping on them after I heard one start talking in Cantonese.  Everyone knows that when the language used suddenly changes, it's an indication that what's to be said next, is not meant to be heard by others. And because of this, I had to know.

Enter bitchmode.

Small world it is, they were talking about my friend E!  It wasn't really trivial stuff as well - had a lot of private stuff to do with relationships, opinions and just a lot of judgement. I thought it was a bit risky to be bitching in cantonese on the bus. I mean, come on, every second person boarding the bus is Asian, and I'm pretty sure my existence was not felt by them until we got off the bus.  E was waiting for them at the bus stop but she waved at me like a madwoman when she saw me.

DUN DUN DUNNN. E then proceeded to introduce them to me and they were looking all sus.

MORAL: Don't bitch in a public place.

Story two:
I met up with a few colleagues afterwards. Usually we sit and chat about people who've quit recently, or people who got married/broke up/are having babies, but this time, when I got there, they were like all hush hush and secretive. Turns out one of the guys (kinda douchey) was telling the whole world that he got with a girl in tax. Not just that, but he went into details.

I jokingly said "You know I'm pretty homie with the tax peeps, give us a name so I know you're legit".

AND HE DID.

AND I KNEW HER.

This is one of those situations, where it's fine to know all the details if you don't know who it is, and the person you're talking about is just labelled as "some girl in tax", but feels COMPLETELY wrong when you can match the stories to a face. COMPLETELY WRONG. I was wrong to ask, but G was even more wrong to divulge.

MORAL: Don't sleep with people from work.

REAL MORAL: Don't ask questions you don't want the answers to.

Gossip-wise, today was really intense. I'd rather listen to people talk about how much they chundered over the weekend than all of the above.

D: It's only Monday and I think I'm sick of people already.

Ugh, after hearing the guys in our cohort talk about girls they've slept with, I preemptively decided I'd NEVER casually sleep around with colleagues *shudder*

They were so objectifying! D:
