Dear state government

What the farque?!?

According to mx (the worlds most reliable source of information) "cityrail ... Will be made smaller and re-branded as Sydney Trains ... 750 middle managers will be offered voluntary redundancies..." (mX tues 15/5/12).

Does this mean I no longer get to hop on express services coming from the central coast? Doesn't that mean 750 people will lose their jobs?

Eff of Gladys. I hope you're joking.

You should really read today's SMH - the rail system is a travesty filled with too many bureaucrats. Slash the jobs I say - 750 is a small price to pay if it crushes union power. Today's SMH gives more context - if you see the stats I'd say you'd be quite appalled.

If those jobs stay then we're left with a heavy and inefficient government - you don't want that; just look at Morocco where the youth think that they're ENTITLED to jobs in government service.

I'll stop right here before I explode with fury.

Lol, I've done a bit more research since last night. The average salary of the 750 employees was at $100k, which is really good :/ But in any case, 750 in one go is quite a lot ... And I support unions, even though they are a bit of pain in the neck sometimes. I also wonder how many are still in top management postions.

I still don't like the idea of rebranding and splitting services.
