We've got everything done now (including passport photos- omg yuck) and you get to be one of the few privileged people to see the ugliness. xD

Talked to D about trip today (suprisingly he didn't tell me to shut up and study instead) and he for some weird reason really, really hates China Airlines so :/ we might not be taking Quentin's flight afterall (@Mawson: I talked to the travel agent, she said we could stop in TW for 3 days ! so yeah haha might..). We might take our normal Qantas/Cathay or take Jal and stop in Tokyo for 3 days...
atm: 2 wks HK, 2 wks Shanghai.

Went to Granny Smith Festival- ah fresh air. Only went to Ewood to take passport photos (damnit, I'm taking it myself next time- such a rip off). Missed Road to Canaan- oh well, next time :)
Last night I went to bed really late because I was checking stats (WHO) and reading practically everything single word on the smart traveller's site. Even stuff like the "what to do if you get sexually assaulted" articles. But yeah. The WHO stuff was interesting- I took ages reading and before I knew it, it was like 2. THERE'S THE PLAGUE IN CHINA! But only in the obscure farm-y locations in China.
Read stuff on passports as well last night- I know so much about them now. lol. Apparently I need to be interviewed for my new adult p/p. I bet it's just one of those- "what's your name" and "why do you want to travel" making sure you're not an obvious terrorist, etc. (@Diti- the travel insurance that covers terrorism is really... wow. haha I doubt any plane to China would get highjacked though. Everyone's chummy with China)

And plus, why would someone want to be your guarantor? :P What is that anyway, in the context of your situation :S I've only heard/know about them in terms of getting loans from banks if you don't have good credibility.

Dw, it's not really an interview. You just stand around while they verify everything. Got my passport last month.
You need a guarantor to make sure that you're not an illegal alien ect. and that your photo represents who you are.
You wouldn't want to attack China: extreme army is EXTREEEEEMEMEME.

Is it that hard to find a guarantor? I recall doing this for my passport around about 5 or so years ago and I just got someone to sign. No big deal I don't think :S
@Darth: lol, pin cushion =-=; I remember getting a tet + dip + hep vaccine or some triple shot like that before I went to China (for the first time in 6 years) when I was younger. Damn that hurt.
@Mini: No, I don't know anyone in the shipping/cargo business. I like to travel by plane thanks very much. My previous guarantor was doc/relos but my relos live an hour or so away and it's convenient to ask the neighbour. :D
